note that the negative after Oxygen denotes is a negative charge on it.
the same with sodium, it has a positive on it.

Acetonitrile - chemical compound with formula CH3CN. Colorless liquid - organic nitrile - widely used as a solvent. Look up acetonitrile. BUT more likely in my guess would be Sodium cyanide, NaCN, which is a highly toxic chemical compound. The white powder is quickly fatal. Like potassium cyanide, NaCN has a smell like bitter almonds.

methoxide ion, CH3O-, is the conjugate base of methanol CH3OH and is a very powerful base while hydrogen cyanide can act as a weak acid. So, an acid-base reaction is possible:
CH3O-Na+ + HCN ==> CH3OH + NaCN
