Hi, could someone help me with the following:

Which reaction rates are the highest: initial rate, average rate, final rate, or instantaneous rate and why?

Thanks!

Because chemical reaction rates are usually dependent upon the concentration of the reactants, the initial rate would be highest. As the reaction progresses, the concentration of reactants decreases because some have been changed in to product molecules.

The initial rate is the fastest, because at the beginning all the reactants have their highest molarities (concentrations). Thus at the beginning the collision rate is highest, too.
