i went to NYC for the 100th anniversary celebration. as we flew over NY, i looked down from the plane and saw streams of cloud formations with blue sky in between them. it actually looked like a field that had just been plowed, ready to be planted. we bummed around NYC for a couple of hours before we got to battery park. there, we looked up at the sky, and it was STILL like that! it covered the entire visible sky. it was like that the ENTIRE DAY!

i never saw a cloud formation like that, so straight and balanced, before that or after that. what kind of clouds were these? what is this type of formation called? when does it happen, under what conditions? how often does it happen? does it happen more in other parts of the world? where and why? it was the most unusual and remarkable cloud formation/sky i ever saw in my life.

Two wires made of the same material are stretched by equal forces. The second wire is twice as long as the first one and also has twice the diameter of the first wire.
If the first wire is stretched by delta L (angular momentum)= 3.6 cm, then by how long is the second wire stretched?

In curcuits how does electricity travel? Can you give me a good indepth post on it? Can you also explain how postive and negative charges effect the course of travel for electrons?

Here is what I thought happened which I'm not sure is ture.

The power source has a negative charge which reples electrons and since electrons are losely bound to the metal they travel to the other end of the curcuit which has a postive charge that attracts the negatively charged electrons.

I understand voltage is the force that pushes electrons and the resistance in the wire is the force that "resists" the flow of electrons. But I'm not understanding any of it. Can you help me out please?

Local citizens are being asked to cut back on water usage, but ranches seem unaffected. In fact, it appears to be the families of local ranchers who are spearheading the water conservation issue, which is probably a good thing, but ranches continue to water indiscriminately.

A plane took 1 hour longer to travel 560 miles on the first portion of a flight than it took to fly 480 miles on the second portion. If the speed was the same for each portion, what was the flying time for the second part of the trip? Set up an equation and solve.

Either inside or when caught outside.

I was leaning outside my upstairs windows to clean the exterior PVC frames during a lightning storm last week.... and it did occur to me it might not be clever.

Also.. outside I'm stuck too. Something about not waiting it out under a tree....
