storm

It did not last twenty minutes
and in that twenty minutes
a lifetime begins
in the condensed turmoil and trauma
of a chaotic summer storm
what I hear is electric and my arms ache
the walls are washed clean
left wet and smooth
in an hour they will be
shrivelling and drying in the still
shrill emptiness of a vacant room
thunder bellows
grumbles and echos
angry with the the sea perhaps
or me
the sea shifts and swells into great breakers
they form and foam and surge
rush to shore crash and splinter
they are like great grey whales breaching
turning falling back
grey on grey on grey
the sky is indiscernible
It is a world of wet
water rain
I redistribute my weight
and stretch for a better look
of the lightening ahead
the sheet of brilliant day
illuminates the air
I see a shadow, feel
a darker grey in the distance
is it the palms bending?
and more rain condensed there
and
beyond there the thunder recedes
hurries back
to shatter the possibility of silence
calmly life that old life, ancient electric life
waits with me behind the curtain
of the turbulent morning
slowly the voyage over
and the storm subsides
stops like a train entering a station
a bird calls
the sky clears
the lamps of daylight glow
the palms stand still and tall
resting
from their dance with the wet momentum
of wave and wild water
I am wrapped in the arid air and blinding light
and held
the bird calls again
and I drier now answer and suckle.

I am applying to college soon, and I am not quite sure if you can double major in molecular biology and biochemistry, or major in on and minor in the other.

They probably have mostly the same required courses right?

Would this make sense?

Do you think that science should search (or continue to search) for a way to travel back and forth through time? Why or why not?

Personally, I think it'd be a bad idea. What has happened was meant to happen, and happened for a reason. Traveling forward would be cool, but if we did and then came back to our own time, what happened while we were gone could affect what happens from now on out, and could screw up our future. It could make it better too, but why risk it? Now, if we found a way to travel forward in time, but could never come back, that would be a personal risk people could choose to take on their own, and I wouldn't mind that, as long as they could never travel backwards through time. I hope all of that made sense.

For testing purposes I am supposed to know what ATP, ADP, and AMP are.

I know that ATP is the source of energy for all body activities and that ATP is a nucleotide containing 3 phosphate groups, a nitrogen base, and a sugar.

But...what is AMP and ADP? How do they relate? Basic, fundamental explanations is all I need as I am in Anatomy and Physiology 1. Thanks.

these bees are probably an 1-1.5 inches in length. they are red, black and yellow. they are somewhat aggresive. i once saw one carying another type of bug (bigger than the bee) and eating it. they have holes all over the dirt (the size of a nickel), they go in these holes often and it is where they stay when they arnt out. the holes also seem to lead deeper in the ground to the point where i cant look for them anymore. anyway these bees are very annoying. there are usually about 6 out at a time and are all over my yard! i dont like them! also they are tough to kill. stabbing one with a stick or stomping it when always kill it only injur it and bee spray only weekens them unless a large amount of it is sprayed at them but the chance of doing that is rare since they are always moving fast and always just go back inside the dirt! can anyone please tell me exactly what the hell these bees are (what kind) and how to get rid of them!!!

at the moment the big bang occurred the universe was infinitely hot. I also seem to remember reading that it was infinitely small. Infinite is not an actual number so is this discrepancy just because you can't really translate the math of the big bang into words? Wouldn't there have to have beeen an actual temperature and size of the universe or is this similar to the lower limit of absolute zero (which actually has a value though)?

In July 1985 Steve Cram from Great Britain set a world record of 3 min. 29.67 sec. for the 1500 meter race and a world record of 3 min 46.31 sec for the one mile race. Suppose you know only that these two events occurred 11 days apart and that the 1500 meter record was set on July 16th. Use an absolute value equation to find the possible dates for the one mile record run.
