Did humans develop the 5 senses because of what was around us? Did we develop a nose because of the presence of smell, did we develop ears because of the presence of sound, did we develop eyes because of the presence of light??? If we could grow some sort of other organ on our face or body, what would it do? Is it even possible to grasp that concept? I sure can't think of anything else we could do.

I know that to find the vertical asymptotes, you set the denominator equal to zero, but how do you find the horizontal or slant asymptotes?

For example: (2x-4)/(x^2-4)
The denominator is x^2-4, so that's (x+2)(x-2).
So the vert. asymptotes are x=2 and x=-2.
What about the horiz./slant asymptotes?

The promise of nano-molecular robots being able to repair cellular damage, coupled with this having been declared the era of brain science, the ability to regenerate spinal tissues in other mammals, and the successful complete sequencing of the human genome are all encouraging examples of technologies rapidly approaching practical applications for the common man, and much more to the point, the applicability to treat severe trauma in medical situations.
