Telepathy. But I feel we may already have the brain capacity for it, just don't know how to utilize it. But I do understand what you are saying. It's like trying to ask someone to imagine what a new color would look like. We can't because our minds can only comprehend the things we have experienced with our own senses.

First of all I think you are entirely right about the presence of light smell etc. I also think we tend to limit ourselves by categorising things. We say five senses. But all senses work along nervous input to the brain. So why on one extreme don't we say that all we have is touch. Or break the senses we have up into it's inclusive parts.
Touch
Sense of vibration
Sense of heat
Sense of cold
Sense of touch (surface)
Smell
Flavour
Aroma
Toxic
Acrid
Decay
Sight
Colour
Shape
Depth
Brightness
Taste
Bitter
Sweet
Sour
Salt
Savoury
Hearing
Loudness
Harmonmy
Noise
Pitch
Tone
Blind people often have face sense
I think intuition is actually a derived sense. There is no reason why the brain itself could not be a sensory organ. Currently we may not have the appropiate pressures to develop this though.

I believe in creation by God. I believe we have our five senses because God, in his infinite wisdom, designed us that way. I have heard it said that we had a sixth sense, which was telepathy. We all have feelings of de ja vue (sp- sorry, no spell checker on my version, which is corrupted, drat!) I have experienced picking up the phone to call someone and they were on the line, or having a rough night thinking of a loved one who is away only to have them tell me when we speak that they were experiencing the same feeling of anxiety about me! This might be some underused and therefore lost ability of sixth sense? Like you, I don't see another organ performing a more evolved human functioning. However, wings would be mighty nice!
LOL! Have a good day.

First of all, we could enhance some of our senses. For example, we could expand our range of hearing for sub-sonic and ultra-sonic sounds--i.e. bats and whales. Other ideas include:
1) Infrared sensors to "see" heat
2) Chemical receptors for sensing specific compounds. This could lead to chemical communication.
3) Radio wave receptors.
4) Brain wave receptors.
5) Electrical receptors that mentally map electrical signals in you vicinity.
6) Mocroscopic vision.
