Pregnancy - October 2007

Im 3 months pregnant with a scan on 7th nov but obviously not soon enough to tell the sex, are there any old wifes tales or signs to tell you that you could be having a boy or girl? Many thanks.

Basically, if you think abortion should be legal then you are saying that it is ok to go and kill somebody, Many pregnant girls have abortions because of one-night stands, or because their boyfriend left them after finding out that they are pregnant. Think of it this way- would you kill your baby after it was born, if your boyfriend left you? No You wouldnt because you wouldnt want to kill your own child, So why destroy it's life before hand?
Ok, so im not saying it should be illegal alltogether. In Some cases there should be exceptions for instances if you been raped, you wouldnt want your child to grow up knowing that their father is in prison for rape, So i guess it would be ok to have an abortion in that situation, Or if the Fetus is growing in the wrong place and it has to be removed no dout about it. << There is 2 more paragraphs before this, it wont fit them in, Please help me start the next paragraph... Im so So Stuckkk!!

p.s it to be against abortion!!

Im now waiting for my delivery baby. My due date is 1 Nov. But now I starting worrying and stress. In these few day I had no appetize to eat. Sometimes I wont eat for whole day. Even I know my body is weak , but still I wont eat. Is this effect from my pregnancy or just my emotion. And still I cant imagine the time I giving birth to the baby with my condition.

Last week, I had my 20 week scan and everything is okay with my little one but despite being over half way gone, I still have no bump! I have two cousins, one six weeks behind me and one 8 weeks and they're both showing more than I am! It just doesn't seem normal. Has anyone else been through a similar thing?

Also, I still sleep on my stomach and I'm worrying I'm squashing the baby. Can I do it any harm by sleeping this way?

I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who had a bit'h of a time quitting drinking coffee, sodas like pepsi, mountain dew and so on because of pregnancy. I'm 18 weeks and 3 days pregnant and I have urges to drink pepsi or any type of soda with caffiene. Even though I switched to drinking juices and water now it's just driving me insane I want caffiene!

Hi..

I just realized that pregnant women should not use hot saunas or hot springs. But, before I found out that I was pregnant (about 3 weeks into my pregnancy), I went to a hot springs and soaked in there for about half an hour.

Will my baby be at risk for neural tube defects?

I and my bf having sex for the first time. He did a pull out ( of cause ) but i sucked his cork for him and using a tissue to wipe it clean. And we continued to do the second time. Is it alright? Will i get pregnant? And for your information, the second time he did a pull out too. Please reply~ Im scared. My last period was 1october now is 28oct. Am i pregnant? I went to the doctor last Monday at that time I was 10weeks pregnant and the doctor said that was the same as 2 months 2 week but according to my pregnancy book you are in your 3rd month between 9 and 13 weeks because pregnancy months are not always 4 weeks. I have also read this on most web site I have visited. Is my doctor wrong? Also I tried to correct her but she made me feel really dumb and told me I was wrong.

Hypothetical situation, lets say that I'm dating a woman who tells me that she is on the pill, but then after sex she says "oops, I forgot."

Would it be illegal for me to feed her the pill without her knowing? Say I slip it in her mouth while she's asleep and let it disolve over night or I grind it up and mix it in with her breakfast.

Is it illegal to due such a thing? I'm not causing her any physical harm, I'm just trying to protect myself from someone who might be trying to trick me into getting her pregnant.

And before anyone complains about sticking a pill in someone's mouth while they're sleeping could be a choking hazard, relax, I know where to put the pill so that won't happen and it will just dissolve overnight in their mouth. I have plenty experience feeding laxatives to my friends while they were asleep over the years, and no one died.

Tonight I have had a HUGE increase in appetite. I want to eat anything and everything. I also feel very dehydrated, and have a terrible headache. I took some Tylenol, but I'm not sure if there's something else going on. I also am having a problem getting the swelling to go down in my feet, and my neck is very tense. I was diagnosed yesterday with a UTI, and I've been taking the antibiotics as directed and drinking tons of water, at least one glass per hour.. any ideas?

I woke up this morning with a lower fever (in the 99's) and swollen lympnoids under my jaw line. Ive had issues with my tonsils for years--so i know this is the cause. I called my doctor and left my number with his answering service, and a few mins later a nurse called me bak and said not to go to the ER because there were more germs there than the ones i had---and to gargle warm salt water, and take tylenol, benadryl, or suddafed. I took the tylenol at 7:00, at that time my temp was 99.7, its now almost 12:00, and my temp is down to 98.6, should i take more tylenol to make sure it doesnt go up during the night? Or should i just wait and see what it is in the morning?

Okay, so I am 7 months pregnant and am a hostess at a restaurant. I recently started having complications. My job requires me to escort people to their seats when they arrive. It also requires that when no customers are arriving, I must stand at all times. 8 hours straight is a long time to stand without a break, and I find that I'm in severe pain after shifts.

My dr would have no problem writing me a note reqestig that i'm allwed to sit down in-between seating customers (on a stool behind the hostess stand). My only question is this--is the restaurant required to accommodate me? Or can they argue that because standing up the entire shift is part of the job reqirement, that I either have to stand or quit?

My job is not pleased that I am pregnant and I feel that they would jump at the opportunity to fire me so they can hire someone else that is not pregnant.At this point it would be very hard for me to get a new job, and I most likely only have a month left working anyway.

I know that you should def quit smoking when you're pregnant. I'm a smoker and I just found out today that I'm pregnant (only like 2-3 wks) and when I was talking to a friend she said that if you quit smoking cold turkey, that since it messes with your body, like put in some sort of shock from lack of nicotine, it'll mess with your baby too...is this true? or is it better to gradually quit?

I have about 4 more days until my period is suppost to be here. I'm waiting to test on the first day of my missed period. I haven't had any signs of my period showing. I usually have a 29 day cycle. I spotted once 6 or 7 days after having unprotected sex around ovulation. Me and my fiancee aren't trying to get pregnant right now we ran out of condoms. We're both reall excited about me possibly being pregnant. We can afford a child cuz we both work, graduated high school, have a stable home, and are 23. This is my second time thinking I was pregnant by the same guy. The first time I ended up not being pregnant. Are you tired of the 2 week wait? What went through your mind the first time you thought you were pregnant? If I am pregnant what should I be prepaired for? We're hoping for a girl if I am pregnant.

Im just wondering what are some early pregnancy signs that each women has expierenced? Im due for my period tomorrow, and so far Ive not had the normal PMS signs I normally have. I normally get sore breasts, bloated feeling and really crampy feeling.

Five days ago I got dizzy for no reason around noon time. I couldnt stand up, I had to sit down. It lasted on and off for a few hours and then stopped. Ive been really moody about everything, and for the past couple of days now Ive had small cramping. It comes and goes. Nothing like how I would get before a period would come on. And Ive noticed Ive been having alot of white and yellow looking cervical mucus. I never have that before a period. Ive felt "wet" alittle before a period comes, but never have I had the amount of Cervical Mucus Ive had over the past week or so.

Anything will help! Just wanted to see what other signs women had as well! Thanks!

I'm not sure if I might be pregnant as I'm not due for my period for another 4 days (and I'm going to wait until then to test) but over the last few days my boobs have been aching a bit especially when I take my bra off. I'm not sure if its because of being due for a period and not on birth control or if I am pregnant.
(BTW before anyone goes crazy, I was on birth control with an IUD which I had to have taken out due to medical problems and I'm waiting for my period to start so I can start the pill which is what the doctor told me to do. we have been using other methods like condoms in between but maybe that didn't work?)
I already have 2 kids but my boobs never started being sore this early, it was usually around 6-8wks and there is no way I'm that far along if I am pregnant.


Any suggestions? When did your boobs start getting sore or any other little things that made you think you might be preggers before your period was due?

I went to the doctor yesterday. The heartrate was 146 and the doctor said everything looked good so far. Today I have had cramping in my lower abdomine..almost like I'm going to start my period. Is this normal?

I'm 7 weeks pregnant with my 2nd baby and I'm woried that something may be wrong. I don't have the morning sickness and fatigue that I had with my daughter, which started around 6 weeks. The only symptoms I have is no period and tender breasts. Is this normal?
