I woke up this morning with a lower fever (in the 99's) and swollen lympnoids under my jaw line. Ive had issues with my tonsils for years--so i know this is the cause. I called my doctor and left my number with his answering service, and a few mins later a nurse called me bak and said not to go to the ER because there were more germs there than the ones i had---and to gargle warm salt water, and take tylenol, benadryl, or suddafed. I took the tylenol at 7:00, at that time my temp was 99.7, its now almost 12:00, and my temp is down to 98.6, should i take more tylenol to make sure it doesnt go up during the night? Or should i just wait and see what it is in the morning?

I would take a lukewarm bath to even out your body temperature. Drinking tea or hot water is also very soothing to the throat and minimizes the need for medication, while keeping you well hydrated.

I think you'll be fine. :)

Your fever is normal now...only take Tylenol when you are running a fever or in pain, especially when you are pregnant. While Tylenol is safe during pregnancy you should avoid taking it too often. I usually tell people not to take anything until their fever hits 100 degrees because fever is the body's natural response to infection and it helps rid the body of whatever is invading it. Have you taken any Benadryl yet? If not, take how many the nurse said to take and go lay down get some sleep. Rest is one of the best things you can do for your body right now.

You don't have a fever, a fever is something over 100 degrees. I would wait in the morning and see you may be doing more harm than good and if you were to take something i would of took benadryl.

no need to take another one. You dont want to overdo it, especially if you are pregnant, just take it on an as needed basis.

So tomorrow if you notice you have a fever, take a tylenol, otherwise just do hot fluids and gargle.
