Pregnancy - August 2007

I am 8 weeks pregnant and having a hard time deciding whether to keep the pregnancy. My boyfriend has already stated that he does not want me to have the baby and his attitude has taken a turn for the worse since I told him. The important details of this story are that I was told 3 months ago by a specialist that the only way the I would be able to conceive would be through IVF(in vitro fertilization) due to a blockage in my fallopian tube( I only have one due to a past ectopic pregnancy many years ago). I am gainfully employed, but my boyfriend is struggling with his career. I have a 10yo child already from a previous relationship and he has a 2yo son. The dilemma is should a child be brought into the world without 2 willing parents? I know that more than likely if I continue the pregnancy, the relationship is over. I am willing to have my baby and move on with my life, but is it fair to be the only deciding party? I am in a bad place right now and I need advice.

I just want to know if she is due in sept.. I dont know exact date doctor told her.. then when did she have sex to make the baby? She is telling me November... I dont get this pregnacy thing.. I never had any kids before.. She says it was the other guys in November.. But she was with me in december and january.. and feb.. all unprotected sex.. I was talkin to her and she said that she seen the ultra sound and the baby face looks like the other guy.. Can that happen? I dont know Im not sure shes 100% its the other guy in november.. but i dont get it! November doc says shes due in Sept.. Im worried that this kids mine and that im not gonna be in its life.. IM 26 shes 20.. what the heck do i do yo?

I am 151/2 weeks pregnant and not really showing quite yet. I have a little bump that i can see when lying down on my back. Yesterday I didn't really have that much to eat and my belly this morning didn't seem as prominent as usual. Does this have anything to do with not eating much the day before?

Most Chinese will do a mini confinement, perform a ritual/prayer for the foetus if getting pregnant is not a forbidden case (eg underaged, unwed).

I have yet to have missed my period, but I've had some weird symptoms.... I'm overly tired, not only have my breast been sore but I've also had mild cramping.. This morning I smelt a weird metal smell when I was standing in the bathroom... I usually start my period between the 5-10... It's only been 12 days since i had sexual contact (this was planned). What does everyone think? Sound like pregnancy?

my bfriend and i had unprotectd sex on the 4th &9th day after my period i took postinor 2 on the 9th day and my period came two weeks after for 5 day but i feel sick in my stomach and took a pregnancy test a week after the period it was negative but i still feel sick and i urinate a lot and i vomitted twice since i dont know if it is mind over matter or just a pregnancy dont know what to do sometimes i feel a little cramp and bloating in my stomach

I saw my OBGYN after the third episode and all he said was I need to see a neurologist. My smptoms are (in order) blurred vision, diziness, nausea, right hand goes numb...then arm, then entire face, then right leg. Blurred vision lasts about an hour usually...episodes have lasted anywhere from 1 hr 30 minutes to 3 hours. After all symptoms go away I get a headache that lasts about 24 hours (nothing makes it better). I felt as if my OBGYN was full of it especially when he said this was not pregnancy related (this never happend before the pregnancy or even during my first) and so I went and saw my primary care doctor that said it has to be pregnancy related (all signs point to it) but he is not sure what it is. He decided to monitor it for a month (me monitor)...well I have had 4 in 2 months and the doctors are not tresting this as serious as I would like. I mean doesn't it sound serious?!?!?!!?!?!? I don't know, I am just scared. I want eveything to be ok with this baby because my hubby

hi its caity again, when having an epidural can you push properly or do you need help with forceps or something? does it hurt being inserted into the spine? do you have to have a catheta inserted into your bladder or is that optional/ because i dont want the catheta

with my first child i told them i only wanted the gas but to ask befor its too late if i want an epidural, i got the stage where i asked for one and they said its too late, but they never asked befor that like i asked. he came out at 9 pound 2, which noone was expecting cause i was not overly big. i am proud that i managed a baby of that size with only the gas. i am thinking of doing the same thing only having gas but i want to know more about epidural experiences to help decide of a back up pain relief just in case. the idea of a needle into your spinal fluid scares me. epidural yes or no?

Ok I am gooing to make this as detailed as possible for a more accurate answer.

My last period was on March 12th. I had sex on March 23rd. Around the 1st week of April I felt like if it had finally happened so I took a pregnancy test on April 6th and it came back negative. Then on April 8th we has sex again. On April 9th I spotted for one day. Took another test on April 18th and it was positive. When I went to the doctor on April 20th I was five weeks pregnant. Did conception occur on March 23rd but the test read negative because it was still too early to tell?? Please help?? When did conception take place.? Today I am 21 weeks pregnant.

My wife is planning not to keep her appointment for a scan next week when she will be 20 weeks pregnant.

She says there is no point as she feels that she and baby are in excellent health and even if there was something wrong with the baby she could never consider abortion. She also says that ultrasounds have never been proven to be safe and it is not worth the risk for a glimpse of the baby when she can can feel it move inside her.

I was quite taken back from this, as I thought all women looked forward to seeing their baby on screen.

I started having contractions around 5 this morning, regular and getting stronger and stronger however they have stopped now. Have had my 'show' and had another one this morning. I don't know what to make of this and whether to go into hospital or not? They stopped around a hour ago.

I put up a question last week with all my symptoms and progress and just expressing how much i want this to be all over......it's still not and i'm going mad! I know it's just a matter of time and i understand that...i think i just have the grumps(!) :)

Imagine if we were given a magic letter stating the exact date and time labour would start....i would pay millions!

I'm not a mother, nor am I pregnant, but I have several friends and family members around me that are pregnant. I'm just wondering if most people have extras in the room besides the father?
I kind of feel like it's a private personal thing to go through. Maybe I'm wrong, like I said, I've never done it. I just wouldn't want to be legs spread with more than the doctors and the father in the room. I'm finding that more and more mothers are telling me in the moment you don't care. My sister-in-law considered me and my mom being the room for her baby's delivery, but didn't want everyone to see her naked so she said she changed her mind. How did you all feel?

I have horrible morning sickness and I'm about 6 weeks pregnant. I'm not able to go in and see and meet my new doctor as I just moved to VA untill the 21st of August. I'm miserable all I can do is lay down. Nothings helping to drops no tea no nothing. If you can tell me whats ok and whats not. I'm 18 years old don't drink or smoke am on the healthy side. Yesterday night I took a dramimine just so I could go to sleep. Thats the only thing that let me sleep though I don't want to hurt the baby I cant function.

my 17 year old bestfriend found out shes pregnant. her and her boyfriend decided that she should get an abortion. she told me if she could keep it she would. but she knows that having a baby this young could make life really hard. i know now more then ever she could really use support, but i dont know what to think or feel. i use to be pro-choice towards abortion. but knowing deep down she wants to keep the baby. well, it confuses me and is distancing me from her. i want to be there for her through all of this. but, i'm not sure what to do to put my feelings aside, because i can't sort through them.

Are two weeks added into an ultrasound or is an ultrasound an exact answer of how far along you are?

For example, a long time ago I went to the doctor and I was 10 weeks 4 days pregnant... does that mean I was really 8 weeks and 4 days? and if so does that mean exactly 8 weeks and 4 days (or 10 weeks and 4 days) ago is when I concieved? Serious answers only.. im just so confused!!

First off, please be nice, im young.
i think i may be really pregnant...between 16 and 22 weeks along.
I got a super super faint positive pregnancy test like 2 weeks ago, and then 2 negatives. but i dont find hpt's very reliable so i am going to the doctor for a blood test.
I did have fluttering for like a little over a month.
And lately it has been really strong.
so i think the blood test is going to be positive.

anyways, yesterday night, i had super bad nausea (normal)
but then it turned into this awful awful pain [the worst pain i have felt in my whole life]. It hurt from my pubic bone up to my ribs and also my back. its really hard to explain. but it was the most painful thing i have ever felt.
it lasted like 5 minutes.
do you think that could be related to pregnancy?
or am i sick?

i have a friend i being talking to since last year. when i met him he had a gf but now they don't talk to each. the problem is that she is pregnant but she telling him that it his. the whole time that they was going together he was wearing his hats. i know hats ain't a promising but do anyone thinks that his baby if this not his baby should i be with him or find someone else

Me and my husband already have two kids but we decided to take a break from having kids for about a year or two. (the little ones were back to back by the way) So i started taking tricyclen-lo and i've been on it for about 5 months. I really messed up my pills bad and continued having unprotected sex without him pulling out (have to say we've never done that), and now i am experiencing pregnancy symptoms but at the same time i got some spotting. I have read on the internet and mommy websites that when you are on the pill and even if you get pregnant it is normal for you to still have some bleeding. Am I possibly pregnant and just bleeding??? or what?! I'm tired, moody, and morning sickness is AWFUL right now. All the usual symptoms.

Im 6 months pregnant with 3rd child and about 2 hrs ago i was sitting down and i was hit with sudden dizzyness and became extremely faint and i had to fight not to passout.i also became sick to my stomach and i had to fight with that also to keep my food down.And then about an hour and a half later i began to feel better.i have been having moments throughout my pregnancy with being faint and dizzy but this was the first time it has happened while sitting....is it something to be very concerned about and what if anything could it be?
