I saw my OBGYN after the third episode and all he said was I need to see a neurologist. My smptoms are (in order) blurred vision, diziness, nausea, right hand goes numb...then arm, then entire face, then right leg. Blurred vision lasts about an hour usually...episodes have lasted anywhere from 1 hr 30 minutes to 3 hours. After all symptoms go away I get a headache that lasts about 24 hours (nothing makes it better). I felt as if my OBGYN was full of it especially when he said this was not pregnancy related (this never happend before the pregnancy or even during my first) and so I went and saw my primary care doctor that said it has to be pregnancy related (all signs point to it) but he is not sure what it is. He decided to monitor it for a month (me monitor)...well I have had 4 in 2 months and the doctors are not tresting this as serious as I would like. I mean doesn't it sound serious?!?!?!!?!?!? I don't know, I am just scared. I want eveything to be ok with this baby because my hubby

I would go see a neurologist but I am on an HMO through my work and my primary care doctor must refer me to any specialist accept an OBGYN. I have already gotten 2 opinions on this and they both think the opposite...I think I may go for a 3rd!

During early pregnancy, especially the 1st trimester, your body makes more blood than it normally has, in order to begin supporting the growing baby. This increase in blood in your body can cause dizziness, light-headness, headaches, blurred vision (seeing stars) and some circulation problems, such as numbness and extremities going to sleep more easily. Of course the nausea is also pregnancy related. If you are really worried about it, get yourself a blood pressure kit and monitor your blood pressure regularly. That's really about all you can do. Overall, these are pretty much normal pregnancy symptoms, which may be why the docs are downplaying it. Even if it is seriously, they will also be extremely reluctant to treat you for any underlying medical condition as long as you are pregnant, as almost any medication can be dangerous to your baby. So in the meantime, rest more, eat more frequent smaller meals, and drink plenty of water. Your body should begin to adjust to the pregnancy soon, and you should feel much better in the 2nd trimester.

I think it would be in your best interest to see a neurologist as that is their specialty. Some people get carpal tunnel syndrome and that would cause your hands to go numb but your face and leg I would be concerned about. I personally don't think this means something is wrong with the baby but I would treat it very seriously concerning your own health. It could be a new problem that just happened to show during your preg. Dizziness and nausea I wouldn't worry about so much alone as preg can cause those feelings but the blurred vision and right sided numbness, if it was me, I would see a neurologist. This is a very important time for you and your baby and a neurologist could help rule out or find some problems that need attention. I wish you the best. Here is a link about symptoms.

at 15 weeks you probably won't feel pregnant yet. Every pregnancy is different and every woman is different! it's crazy how much it can all vary from person to person. The good news is that you are 15 weeks and your chances for a miscarrige drop signifigantly after the first trimester! So don't worry about that! You probably won't start feeling you baby move for another few weeks to a month or so! I think I was about 17 weeks when I first felt the flutters of my baby moving, and once it starts it will never stop until you give birth!! So don't worry about how your clothes are fitting, and how big your belly is now, your baby has a strong heartbeat so that's all that matters!! I know you probably are looking forward to a big baby bump, but be careful what you wish for!! Along with that big belly comes stretch marks, aching back, and you can't even see your own feet!! lol good luck:)

I suggest you ask around different hospitals for advice and if you have the money, go there.
I had similar problems when I was pregnant... dizziness, nausea, numbness, and when I asked my doctor about it, they said it was not pregnancy related, although it didnt start until I was pregnant and recommended me to see a regular doctor. My regular doctor wouldnt see me because they say that I am pregnant and only my OBGYN could see me. They gave me the roundaround which sucked.
Try researching your symptoms online or asking other hospitals about this. There are great hospitals out there who can give you your diagnosis, it sounds like yours dont care.

well, you don't say how old you are?but..it could be something like vertigo?low blood sugar, just don't get all stressed, nausea, and dizziness goes along with your hormones all changing with the pregnancy.try small snacks 6-8 for a week, everyday and see if that helps.
I think I would tell my OBGYN,if he's not concerned, then maybe you should get one who would be.
But,next visit, tell him you've written down the dates it has happened and you are starting to worry about it...Is it around the time that you would normally have your regular periods if you weren't pregnant?maybe just hormonal changes..I think I would see a neurologist if it continues.

First..... Take a deep breath and relax..... I think it would be beneficial to seek a second opinion and then determine if you need to see a neurologist. Your symptoms are not related to the problem with your husbands first child, Many symptoms early in pregnancy will deminish. Keep yourself healthy and get a second opinion!

your OB/GYN is right it has nothing to with your pregnancy.. and he's completely right to suggest you see Neurology cause your symptoms sound like stroke or seizure activity. it could be that your pregnancy triggered them, but it still remains that your having issues that start and remain within your brain and nerve system.

To set your mind at ease your husband's previous child's condition cannot affect you.. there are slim chances that at 15 weeks your having reactions to your infants condition.. its the size of a tomato and barely developed past looking like a tadpole... ie arms and legs no fingers and toes yet.

stress will not do you any good.. relax and do as your OB/GYN says! go see NEURO

I'd say it sounds to be like a panic attack or even a vasel vegal reaction.

A lot of the women in my family get them, including me. And they sound JUST like that. No matter what tests the do they'll tell you nothing is wrong and its in your head. And it feels like you are totally going to die, and like something is totally totally wrong.

I know they dont effect your baby.

Dont eat sugar or caffeine, stay active, and stretch.

It does sound serious. It could be pregnancy related, but it could be something that is just now starting to show itself. Maybe you need to see a specialist.

if you believe its from the pregnancy, and are concerned, keep asking, eventually the dr will check into it just to shut you up lol.
i have problems similar, but not for extended periods like you, and its not from pregnancy for me, its been happening since i was 12.

but for you keep asking, the dr will have to check into it. tell them even if its not caused by the baby your concerned for the baby. and that your concerned for your own health and want to know what it is yourself
