Me and my husband already have two kids but we decided to take a break from having kids for about a year or two. (the little ones were back to back by the way) So i started taking tricyclen-lo and i've been on it for about 5 months. I really messed up my pills bad and continued having unprotected sex without him pulling out (have to say we've never done that), and now i am experiencing pregnancy symptoms but at the same time i got some spotting. I have read on the internet and mommy websites that when you are on the pill and even if you get pregnant it is normal for you to still have some bleeding. Am I possibly pregnant and just bleeding??? or what?! I'm tired, moody, and morning sickness is AWFUL right now. All the usual symptoms.

If you get off track with the pill you are likely to have spotting/periods throughout the month. However since you've also been having unprotected sex...

There's a very strong chance you are pregnant. Take a test - it's most likely been long enough to get an accurate reading.

Even if you miss 1 pill, or are taking it at different times during the day, you can absolutely get pregnant. It's very common.

I conceived when I was on Ortho Tricyclen for 11 years without fail. The Pill is not 100 % effective even if you take it properly. The Pull Out method of birth control does not have a very good rate of success. I have 2 nephews and 2 nieces conceived with that method. I did not know I was pregnant when I was taking the Pill. I had normal periods for 2 months after conception and one month of slightly shorter and lighter bleeding than normal before I found out at a routine yearly physical that I was pregnant. In my case I did not have any pregnancy symptoms and was 17 weeks along when I found out. So, yes, if you are taking birth control pills and conceive, it is very possible to have monthly bleeding and not know you are pregnant. I suggest you take a home pregnancy test and/or visit your doctor for a diagnosis since you will want to stop taking the Pill if you are pregnant.

I got pregnant with my twins or Lo-estrin. They told me that when I messed up my pills one month that it caused me to hyper ovulate. I had a period for two months after I got pregnant and was STILL taking the pills. It can happen, you need to take a prego test asap!!

I would say congrats and suggest you go get it confirmed at your doctor's office. Just for your info the birth control pills don't always work even if you are taking them exactly on schedule. My sister got pregnant inspite of the ones she was on.
