There's no way to tell, it can be days, weeks, or months. My kids drop when I still have a couple months to go. Everybody's different.

During my first pregnancy, the head was engaged by 32 weeks and my daughter was born at 37 weeks 3 days. Im now 37 weeks and 1 day pregnant and baby has been engaged for a week.
I had read that for 2nd pregnancies the head doesn't usually engage until labour begins but i seem to have proved that theory wrong!
I dont think there is any hard and fast rule as to when specific things should happen. I know its frustrating but it really is just a waiting game.

Do you mean that the baby has dropped into the birthing position low in the pelvis area. Unless your water has broken then you really do not have to worry to much as when the baby has dropped low into the pelvis you may have anywhere from a month to a few weeks or a few days depending upon whether or not your cervix is dilated and how far you have dilated. Hope this helps. Otherwise just ask your OB-GYN. He/she can tell you better than I can as they will usually check your cervix aa good portion of the time when you are close to your due date..

My baby boy's been down low in my pelvis for 4 weeks now and I've got 5 days until his due date! I've heard from What to Expect When You're Expecting that first time mommies drop a month to a couple weeks before their due date. The book also said that 2nd time moms can expect to drop a couple weeks to a couple minutes before giving birth! Pretty large window! Hope that helps!

I "dropped" with both pregnancy's from 32+ weeks and didn't go into labour until 2 days past due date.
If you mean dropped as in efaced and starting to dilate and cervix thinning out then probably a few weeks at most (2-3 maybe).
Good luck

maximum first time mothers do no longer word that their toddler has dropped, and it generally won't take place till you're already interior the early stages of hard artwork. there's no longer lots you're able to do different than walk, with the aid of fact walking facilitates decrease the toddler to your pelvis. different than which you basically could wait it out. while you're worried in simple terms call your checklist to place your techniques comfy. solid success to you.

There's no hard and fast rule. Some babies engage as early as 34 weeks, some don't engage until you go into labour.
However, in general, it usually happens in the last two weeks of pregnancy.
