It should be ok to deliver naturally but your obygn should tell you nearer the time. If you go into labour and the scar stretches then they may do a c-section to prevent rupture. Also if you get a big bump they made decide to bring you early or c-sect to also avoid rupture.

In this day and age, they are both pretty safe. When you get ready to deliver your doctor will tell you if you need a cesarean, or you can have the baby vaginally. I had 2 children b cesarean, and it was because I never dialate and the baby doesn't drop into the birth canal. You may have had a breach baby the first time, or something where you can have this baby normally. don't worry about it, either way can work out fine.

My best friend is 17wks pregnant and has the same dilema. She had labour and delivery problems and couldn't dilate properly and needed emergency caeser, but baby turned out to be 3 weeks late and 10pd! No wonder she couldn't deliver naturally. Her docs have given her 60% chance of success. VBAC so she is going to wait as long as she can and try for it. Caeser is major abdominal surgery and has a multitude of possible complications as you probably know. A VBAC can carry less complications and the option for caeser if things don't go as planned is still possible and can be done in 5mins if things get hairy during labour.

I have had two vaginal deliveries and my recovery time compared to hers and others i know was just so much better. You are up and about and able to do so much more. The statistics for succesful breastfeeding is higher in vagainal births also than caeser if this matters to you.

I say weigh all your options and speak to docs and get definate answers (20% - 50%- 90% chance etc...) Try if you can. Nothing beats lifting your baby onto your stomach yourself and feeding him and cuddling him from the moment he is born.

Good luck with whatever decision you make. Remember it is about you and baby. Don't be bullied into any decision.

Ask a doctor. This is not the place to be seeking medical advice.
