Feeling faint and dizzy is common in pregnancy. Some women even faint throughout their pregnancies and are still ok - my mother and aunt did with all their babies and just learned to cope. They didn't have any problems and neither did the baby.
If this is not happening regularly - i.e. you've just had a couple of episodes throughout your first 6 months, I would not be concerned. Because of the increase in blood volume, the additional load on the heart and strain on your circulation, you might be faint or dizzy sometimes and it's perfectly normal. And it might be more pronounced as your uterus gets bigger and pushes more on blood vessels and nerves.
You might mention this at your next doctors visit so they will be aware of what's going on and they may have some tips to help you. Be sure you are also taking your vitamins and getting plenty of iron. Iron deficiency can cause dizziness.
I had a couple of dizzy spells when I was pregnant when I thought I would pass out. It was because of low blood sugar and borderline anemia, easily fixed with proper diet and supplementation.

Well you could have a case of hypoglycemia. I have this and control it well by paying attention to the things Im eating and the sugar Im ingesting. If you have a good amount of sugar or carbs without a balance of protein and fat at the same time, it could lead to a hypoglycemic attack soon thereafter. Usually you can start feeling it come on when you recognize certain symptoms, which are subtle at first and then hit you pretty fast. To easily and quickly fix this, you should have some juice, about 8 oz should do the trick. However, dont stop there because if you fix it quickly with more sugar, hypoglycemia will only hit again within an hour or a few hours, so make sure you eat something with protein and fat and minimal sugar as well. This will help to maintain your blood sugar levels rather than have them go up and down abruptly. You should have your glucose tolerance test soon if you havent had one yet. They typically check for gestational diabetes but the doctor will know if your blood sugar levels come back too low as well. You can also buy a blood glucose test/monitor at your local pharmacy so that you can check your blood sugar levels when you are feeling this way. I used mine for a while at first until I started to be able to recognize how I was feeling and was able to know what my levels were at that time. This may not be what your problem is however so its important to mention it to your doctor. It could be a combination of things.

First you need to call your doctor because you may have preeclampsia. If not, you may need to take an iron supplement even if your test for anemia was negative. The standard test during pregnancy doesn't always show anemia. Take the iron pill with a glass of orange juice because vitamin c helps your body absorb it better. Pregnancy demands a much greater blood supply, and most people just don't get enough iron out of their diets. Prenatal vitamins don't have enough iron in them. You can try it for a couple of days, and if you feel better than you know that's your problem.

I was in the hospital because of this. I had an iron/potassium deficiency. Eat some banana's (potassium) and spinach (iron). Tell your doctor what is happening. He may prescribe you some extra vitamins (to add to your prenatals). Mine got so bad the baby tried to come early. So make sure your levels of vitamins and minerals are stable. The baby is getting what he/she needs it's you that is affected by this. Take care of yourself. You have a special little present coming!
