Pregnancy - February 2007

I am 11 weeks and 3 days pregnant. My fiance' has a little boy who is 4. Either it is my hormone's and sensitivity or this little one is being mean to me. He is aware that he will have a little brother or sister soon, but my fiance' and I weren't sure if he really understood or not. Well, ever since we have told him and his birth mom (which she is freaking out) it seems like he has been a pain towards me lately and it's so frusterating because I'm so sensitive to everything. So naturally, I get pretty upset when he's like this. Does anyone think it has anything to do with the pregnancy? If so, how do you deal with it? Just wanted some opinions.

My fiance's ex-wife passed away while she was pregnant. Her baby is alive and doing well although he's premature. Her brother and his wife were going to raise him but have decided not to. My fiance and I are prepared to take him and raise him as our own. I have two boys, he has a daughter. We feel like it's the right thing to do but I'm so nervous about the whole thing. Are we doing the right thing? And no the baby is not his just in case you're wondering. There's no adoption category so I posted here. Any thoughts?

Mine was my hair--I would shampoo it, but it would still look greasy. Then I knew something was up for sure!

As I have asked previously about extreme hip and lower back pain, people where helpfull with info on the topic. But to follow up I was wondering if any women out there had thier OB prescribe pain meds during the last bit of pregnancy? What kind of meds did you take? And did it have any affect on your preganacy. This is how I look at it. I am already high risk for preterm birth. My last pregnancy, my water broke from what the doc thinks was high stress and anxiety. Now this pregnancy I have this unbearable pain, that I fear could lead to the same senario again. My over bearing mother inlaw (bless her heart I know she only tries to help) thinks that my OB is endangering my baby for no reason. But if true, why would he prescribe pain meds if he knows not to? I would rather trust my doctor than a woman, that yes has medical training (only with people who are dying) but nether less does not know lick about pregnancy's.

This question probably sounds really stupid. But hey...I'm still learning.

Are there any symptoms at all I should look for within such a short time frame? Or is it fairly futile to test sooner than at least 2 weeks after a potential conception date?

My daughter is 34 and pregnant with her third child. She went into pre-term labor with both babies. The doctor is hesitant for her to have amnio because of this. She did say that there is a new ultrasound test to be given at 12 weeks that is 95% effective in detecting birth defects if used in conjuction with the blood test. Has anyone heard of this

I went to my OB today to get checked and I didn't know that she could estimate the baby's weight when she checked my belly. Can they tell more surely once they do a cervical exam or they can just as well estimate by measuring our belly? i am 33 weeks and 4 days and my baby is 4 1/2 pounds already. I asked OB and she said the baby is a little bigger for my weeks, but I should not worry and it has nothing to do with what I eat or weigh. My only fear is delivering a big baby. My due date is March 20th, is it possible I will deliver early?

I'll be 31 weeks on Monday and with my first pregnancy my baby was breech. I feel movements in lower and upper abdomen but am not sure what i'm feeling feet or hands or what. When the baby has the hiccups i feel it coming from the bottom more. Is there any way of really knowing without the doctor Having to tell me? I know they check but i still have about another 2 weeks before i go back and i'm constantly thinking about it.
Any one that can help me out??

I haven't had a chance to ask my doctor yet, so I figured I could get some opinions on here. I know permanent hair dye isn't recommended.

i've been having sharp pains above my pelvic bone, usually when i'm sitting down on the couch? & i don't know if the baby has dropped yet? last ultrasound i had the baby's head was pressed against the placenta.

i've also been a little constipated. but it's weird because it will feel like i have to go to the bathroom, when i get to the toilet, i won't be able to go, & then a little while later, i'll try again & i'll be able to go a little..

is all this normal?

I have heard from almost everywhere that induction hurts worse than naturally starting contractions. I had started naturally with my first then induced to progress things along. Now I want to start naturally and keep it natural. Is it true that induction hurts worse then going the natural route?

I am saying no castor oil because I don't like the messiness of that. I have a 3 year old so I know the labor basics. Someone also gave me some evening primrose oil (I think that's what it's called) to help to soften. Is there anything else? I'm just uncomfortable at this point.

Im due on the 7th of this month of course that is only 5 days away. I have a doctor appt on my due date. If i dont have her between now and then I was going to ask her to induce me on the 12th seeing as I probably wont have her between the dr appt and the 12th. The reason for the 12th is because my significant other's dad has been passed away for 5 years and the 12th was his bday i thought it would be nice for my husband he liked the idea but it wasnt a definite. Do you think this would be a nice present for him?
