Not necessarily. I had my son two weeks ago at 33 1/2 weeks. He weighed 4 1/2 pounds and he is still at the NICU. I was told that he probably would have weighed 7 pounds at birth. It depends on the baby! Good Luck!

You need to stop worrying. When the baby comes you will realize that it wasn't necessary to worry at all. Mother nature takes care of the time and the weight and everything else. It will work out perfectly. You must not have anything to do? Have you packed your bag to go to the hospital? Have you got everything ready for the baby when you bring it home? The baby's room is all decorated like you want and the basic needs already in the house. Have you picked out the name for a boy or a girl?

Dont worry!
They could have your due date wrong...which would make a bigger sized baby...and yes you can go early. My due date is March 22.
My first baby measured big all along and I had her by their due date 2 wks early (by my due date 2 wk late). She was 8 lb 13 oz. BUT... they also told me they only guessed at the weight. The doc is ESTIMATING the weight by the height of your uterus. This is NOT accurate. Dont fret!
I even had an ultrasound 2 days before I had my daughter-- they said she was 8lb 1oz.... two days later...8 lb 13oz.

2 ultrasounds are normal, actually it's extra by one ultrasound (the first one was excessive). If you get a 3rd it will be to check your amniotic fluid levels when you are overdue. Internal exam? Yup, probably not with a speculum - they only need their fingers to see about cervix changes, unless they are stripping your membranes, then you'd have a speculum. No internal membrane should hurt really, except when you're in labor and it feels so wrong for something to be going up when you want that baby out!

It's not an exact science, it's an estimate. Even with ultrasounds they thought my son was going to be over 10 pounds and I was not pleased about having a huge baby. I hear ya on that! ouch.
He was 7lbs 12oz, not 10lbs! Relax, if the baby is too big you'll have c-section to ensure you and baby are safer, otherwise you'll be able to push him out.
If he's 4.5lbs now and you have approx 6 weeks left, and the baby gains as much as half a pound a week, you're looking at about a 7.5 pound baby at delivery. Not too big, right?
Relax my dear, it's going to be okay. Nobody could keep me calm after they'd said 10lb baby to me, now I realize I was worried for nothing. It's going to be okay and your baby will be perfect. Best of luck to you!

No don't worry about the babies weight. It is normal for the baby to be about that weight. By the time that you have the baby it will probably be about 8 lbs or somewhere right around there and that is totally normal and very healthy. Congrats on baby and hang in there.

Nah...you are fine. 4.5 pounds at 33 weeks?
My baby was at 6 pounds at that stage. When she was born at 38 weeks, she weighed 8 pounds exactly. Perfect!
