It's wonderful. The little guy needs love. A child can never have too many people that love him.
If you don't want any resistance from the biological father or her family later, though, make it legal. It can cost a fair amount of money but if that is a problem for you 1) you can do the process over time to spread out the costs or 2) many local bar associations can point you to a place where you can get legal assistance cheaply or for free.
I live in the Chicago area and when my husband wanted to adopt my child from a previous marriage we contacted DePaul University. They have a law internship program where licensed lawyers & professors mentor legal students in a program to provide free or cheap legal aid to the community. Our finances qualified us for the program so they assisted us in the adoption process and I think over a period of 5-6 months it cost us about $200 total.
Good luck! He will be lucky to have such concerned parents.

Most definitely the right thing to do. The baby needs great parents and it will bring all of your family closer together and your kids will love this baby. Just make sure the father doesn't want anything to do with the baby. I would hate for you to get attached to the baby and later him come and take it away. Good luck!!

If he has a daughter with her then the baby would be his daughters half brother right? If it not weird to you then I say go for it. That is a very repectful thing to do. I would do it, but thats just me and I would love him like my own. ( i have been known to take on others babies while parents are in jail or for other reasons)

That is awesome that you are willing to take in this little one and love and raise it. I commend you for thinking of the welfare of this baby and not what others might think! Goes to show, there are some good kind hearted people in the world still! Congratulations and good luck.

I think you are. Taking a child that is not wanted and raising it as your own. Get everything in writing and legal. Its amazing how people can become possessive over a child they did not want at one point and change their minds. Good luck.

Wow, what a generous gesture!
Yes, you are doing the right thing, he will be able to grow up with his own family, and a mother and father who have chosen to love him as their own.
It will be a difficult, amazing, wonderful journey.
I take my hat off to you both.
Good Luck!

i think what you are doing ina very nice action... to take a kid who is not yours and raise it as if the baby is yours... it is the right thing to do but it up to you... no one can force you.. but to that baby, you will be an angel dropped from heaven and the baby will always thank you for that... you are a very nice person... best wishes to you and your husband.
