My doctor told me it was fine to dye your hair (any kind) after 4 months. She told me you can also highlight it, but to never bleach your whole head of hair while pregnant. It also says it is okay in the pregnant woman's bible, "What to Expect when Expecting". Hope this helps.

It's fine! I dyed and highlighted my hair all throughout my pregnancy and my son is healthy and too damn smart for his own good. My ob said it was safe so long as it wasn't done in an enclosed space with little ventilation. Also, it can be absorbed by the skin but there is no proof it causes any damage to the baby.

You know, when I was pregnant with my daughter, I dyed my hair with permanent dye. My doctor told me there was nothing wrong with it. She told me it was actually worse to use hair spray(because of inhalation) on your hair than to dye it. I think if you dye your hair in moderation, only a few times while your pregnant, there's nothing to worry about.

I was told by my OB/GYN that it is ok, if it is the wash out kind. Definitely stay away from the permanent. You can always call your doctor, just to be sure.
