I'll be 31 weeks on Monday and with my first pregnancy my baby was breech. I feel movements in lower and upper abdomen but am not sure what i'm feeling feet or hands or what. When the baby has the hiccups i feel it coming from the bottom more. Is there any way of really knowing without the doctor Having to tell me? I know they check but i still have about another 2 weeks before i go back and i'm constantly thinking about it.
Any one that can help me out??

I had a Version with my first baby so i know the risks and that's why i'm worried. I know there's still time but i have been feeling the same movements in the same places for a while now. Lighter movements on the bottom and stronger near top.

Hiccups down low (below your belly button) are indication that baby is head down. If you are feeling stronger movement up top, I would say those are legs/feet. A skilled doctor (in my case midwife) can kind of take ahold of baby's body at her bottom, and at her head, and can tell you which part is down.

Put your mind at rest, and see what your doctor says in 2 weeks. With hiccups down low, and strong movements up top, my guess is baby is head down.

I read some of your other posts. Congratulations on baby #2, and though it is a bit more challenging than just one, you will do great! Your 3 year old will be a big help, bringing you diapers, putting the pacifier back in baby's mouth (if she takes one), singing to her, etc. You can curl up on the couch when feeding baby, and read a book to your son. You really can do just about everything you've been doing for your son, with baby attached. Use the front pack, use the swing, let daddy or someone else help lots during those first few weeks. You will do GREAT! Again, congratulations!

31 weeks is very early, and the baby probably won't be head down.

At 37 weeks, if the doc says the baby is still not head down, he can do what is called a "version", and will physically try to flip the baby.

Don't worry...give it time. Most babies are head up at that stage.

I'm 31 weeks as well. yesterday @ the doctor's he put 2 hands down low to feel for a head. He grabbed my hand and let me feel where it was. To be able to feel from the outside you really have to push kind of hard. I was uncomfortable with that.

Don't worry about it... there's not much you can do to get the baby to turn. You still have 9 weeks for the baby to move.

My sister was told that her baby was head down... when her water broke, and we went to the hospital, the doctor said, "Hmm... I think we should have an ultrasound done." The baby was coming out bum first... so she had to have a c-section.

unless you are overweight, you should be able to feel if the head is down just by pressing around above your pubic bone, or you can sometimes just tell that their little bottom is sticking up.
