I'm on BCP and this is the second month that i've had two periods; last month, I had a period for two weeks, and this month, I'm on my period now, and I'm not supposed to get it until two weeks from now; I did a rapid pregnancy test and it came back negative; what could this be??

Hello Suzi,
It sounds as if your BCP is not the correct one for you. There a lot of differente dozage with pills. It could be either too strong or too weak. Either way it is not regulating you and throwing your cycle in a mess. You need to make an appointment asap with your health services and have it checked and change.
However, if you have just started on the pill for the very first time, it might take up to 3 months to settle.
As far as being pregnant, logiccally the hormones present in the BCP should unable your body to ovulate, Hence each period is actually flushing an empty cycle. You should not be able fall pregnant. But to ensure that it does its jobs properly, check with your doctor/physician.

Are you taking a low dose pill like Loestrin or Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? When I was on Low Dose BCP's I had what they call break through bleeding mid month. It wasn't exactly like a period but I had light bleeding for about 2 days during the month. I talked to my doctor about it and she changed my dosage. If you're on a low dose pill that could be what you're experiencing.

It does not sound like pregnancy. You should ask yourself a few questions. How long have you been on birth control pills? Have you recently switched the type of birth control pill you are taking? Have you been sick recently? Any yes answers could be the culprit. It is always good to check with your doctor if you are concerned.
