Pregnancy - September 2006

I know it may sound like an odd question, but is it okay to drink coffee and/or espresso while I'm pregnant? My fatigue is so strong I can barely stay awake at work. Naps just make me even more tired. I just don't know how to stay awake and be pregnant at the same time. This is my 3rd child, so you'd think I'd know the answer to this, the truth is I wasn't working when I was pregnant with either of them, so I had time to sleep all day. Please, any advice on how to stay awake, or if you know how much coffee is too much....anything would help. Thanks.

Which comes first? Dilation or loss of mucus plug? I didn't go into labor naturally with daughter #1 so I don't have anything to reference with this one.

I'm almost 28 weeks, and every now and then I get really bad cramps! They feel like I'm about to start my period and they last about 1-2 minutes long. I've had these since about 2 months ago, but only about 2-3 each month. Now I'm getting them more often (like 2 times a week) Someone told me that they were braxton hicks contractions...could that be what they are? Has anyone else ever experienced this while pregnant?

My girlfriend took the Plan B pill about 14 hours after we engaged in sexual activity. It was the day before her period started. We've never had sex, but she performed unprotected oral sex on me. I think some of the ejaculation got on my hand, and I did wipe it off with a paper towel. I then proceeded to finger her. To be safe, we decided to get the Plan B pill.

It's been a day since she's taken the pill, and she is experiencing cramping normal to what she gets 2-3 days before her bleeding starts. Is this a good sign, or will her period be delayed? I'm sorry, I'm really panicking and need some reassurance.

i feel sharp pains in my stomach and then they go away. Some times i think that i feel a heartbeat or movement in my stomach. It just started resently. I also have to pee every minute. Then i feel like i am hungry after i just ate. Can someone tell me if all this is normal. I believe i am 15 weeks almost 16 sorry i lied in my other question i thought i was 14 but i counted wrong. Is it possible to feel the baby moving like kicking. Some times when i am in bed and i roll over i can feel some thing move and when i lay on my stomach it hurts and when i stretch it hurts. I wanna know if this is normal and the doctors say they are not sure if i am pregnant or not but they think i am. Everybody i talked to thinks i am also.

I am 16 weeks preg. and was having slight cramping after sex yesterday. Today, when i used the washroom, i felt something weird and wiped away a glob of snot-like mucus. Not really a big one, but it seemed abnormal compared to usual discharge. Can you tell me what a mucus plug is like, and if this sounds similar, and if i should contact my doc yet or not? (owe money for missed appt, don't have any money till husband's next check wednesday, so don't want to contact doc till necessary)

My husband and I have been ttc for six months now. I went to the doctor's last week and she said because I ovulate once every two-three months it is going to take a long to to concive,couple that with the fact that my uterus is tilted, and you have a big problem. I REALLY REALLY want kids and the thought of having to wait years, ending up at a fertilty clinic, or even never having a child scares me. It has gotten to the point where I avoid women with babies because I just want to cry. Do you have any advise to help me get through this time ?

I've done at least 5 home pregnancy tests at home on my first day of missed period and they all came back positive. Later when I visited my GP, the test done at my GP's office came back with a very light line. He wanted me to come back to his office a week later. I don't understand. Why is this happening? I believe I am expriancing all pregnancy symptoms. Also he told me that if I have my period during this week, then it means I m not pregnant. So Am I pregnant or not?!!?

On friday I was trying to fall asleep at night and felt this sudden drop on my bladder. I had to make a mad dash to the restroom. I'm 37 wks and I have not been having to go to the restroom every 10 mins like some other pregnanct women so this was kinda different for me. Do you think it could be the baby dropping?

My friend was 2 weeks late with her period so she took 3 preg tests all positive, but she told me today that she had a period for 7 days last week she went to her doctor but they have her in total suspense with no results yet. I dont know what to tell her so i was asking here to see if i can probably get answer to someone that has gone through this or someone you know. Is this normal? She said she wasnt experiencing alot of pain with her cramping, but just slightly.

I took a pt at the doctor's office on 9-6-06 & it was negative!! Exactly 2 wks later, I took a HPT and it was positive! The next day, I did a serum test and it was positive and my cycle was due on the 21st of sept. I started what seems to be a light period on 9-23 and I took a HPT the same day and it was positive. The bleeding is light red and it's not flowing like a normal period. If I wouldn't have taken the PT, I would think that it's a light period. Is this implantation since it's only been 2 wks? I went to the doctor and they did a urine and a serum test and I won't know the results until tomorrow!! I'm nauseated and tired and I've gained 2 lbs since Thursday!! Has anyone experienced this and had a normal pregnancy or have a miscarriage??????

ok here i go..the first day of my last period started on april 8 and ended on april 15...me and my now ex have unprotected sex never used condoms...cause we get regular checked for std's..i had sex with my now boyfriend on may 2....only twice....but we used a condom....so my next period should be on may 6....but it did'nt come...im regular....so i brought a dollar brand test and tested on (may 10) and it came back positive...just (8days after sex on may 2) and 4 days after missed period...i went to the doctor on (june 5) and i had a sonogram done and he said that i was in my 9th week of pregnancy...(i was 8weeks 2days pregnant)....im now 24weeks and 2days pregnant....my due date is january 13 2007....so who's most likely to be the father...i know a guess is not 100% sure ...but it still would be very helpful..thank u...

I am only 6 weeks along, and I have actually lost about 8 lbs. Still, everything feels "tight" to me. Is is totally stupid to buy maternity clothes already? My husband says I don't look any different, but why everything feeling tight then?

My boss told me today that if your babies father puts his ear to your bellybotton the baby will kick at it but only for the daddy not for anyone else. She said it worked with both of her kids! I was wondering if anyone else has tried this?
