Never happened for me either, But I can say when my husband talked to my belly on those night the twins would not settle down it work wonders.
His voice always seem to settle down all the kicking and moving the kids did and some nights I would sit and cry waiting for him to come home and talk to my big ole belly so the little monster would stop and give me a break.
So with this question, I wouldn't say it couldn't happen. Each kid is funny in one way or another.

Of all the things in the world........How would the baby know who was there? It's a belly button, not a peep hole! No this is just silly. You can however buy heart monitors that come with headphones to listen to the baby's heartbeat and kicks at home. Try walmart

I think that's just her superstition. Plus, how many men are going to put their ears to a pregnant woman's belly button who isn't their wife or girlfriend? Mostly other people will put their hands on a woman's stomach to try to feel the baby kick but not their ears.

When I was preg with my daughter who is the oldest of the two anytime my husband laid his head on my belly she would kick or punch him even is she was not moving at the time however if anyone else would push on or touch my belly when I said she was kicking she would just stop. My boy would be kicking or punching and when my husband would try to feel him or anyone else he would just stop I think it proabably just depends on the baby

Yeah it's true for me! My husband put his ear up to the belly (because he can hear our daughter's heartbeat) and she will almost always kick or move when he puts his head there. Maybe she knows her Daddy is close!!

I've never heard that before. I listened to both of my kids while my wife was pregnant and both were quite active. Having dad's bond with the babies before they are born is a great idea.

Sounds like you don't know the baby's father, in this case I would wait till the baby is born and get a paternity test.
I can't imagine any man wanting to put his ear to a women's pregnant belie unless he is the father.

I've never heard of it personally. My baby kicks like crazy when my husband talks to her or rubs my belly. It's really sweet.

This is just silly - babies do not possess magical powers to detect who is outside their womb, nor do they have the mental capacity to formulate a plan to kick who may be there listening.
