How old are you?
I was scared until I turned 35. Then I decided I was ready, regardless of any suffering. My best friend is 41, and never wants kids, based on her bad childhood.
I had a cesarean, and the complications were terrible. I had pre-eclampsia, and they tried for 3 days to induce labor, then I suffered partially collapsed lungs after the birth. I am now just fine and dandy, and have this beautiful girl.
I would personally look at what suffering you are talking about: Painful suffering in labor? The feeling that babies make you suffer because they require a lot of care, and cry a lot? Think about your childhood and maybe what things happened to make you view having children in a negative way.
Maybe you just aren't ready. I had no desire to have kids til later in life. I had my first baby at 39. I am now 40, and am getting ready to try to have another baby. I will have more until they tell me I can't do it anymore.
If you don't want kids right now, don't have them....the life that an unwanted child could lead because his parents really weren't ready yet are irreversible. Make sure before you have a baby that you are ready emotionally to do it, because that baby will depend on you 100% to be stable and loving.
Best wishes!

hey you're normal. now, after you have digested that fact..i have three children. all by natural child birth...and i was always scared..sh...tless. pun intended. but i just did it..carrying the baby is neat..checking out the changes and stuff..there is actually a hormone that is released inside a mother's body that enables women to multi-task...women who never get pregnant never get it and neither do men...if we didn't get that hormone we wouldn't be able to be all that we can be. really the pain of childbirth is at different levels for different people...and the last ten minutes when the babies coming out are mindboggling cause my brain said..i can't do this,,,but i have to do this,,,everyone has done this...the minute the baby is born the pain stops...it's cool..and the baby is the greatest..a miracle..they are little aliens until they open their eyes and then the soul pops in and your in love. and the bottom line...the suffering of child bearing and child birth is over in 9 months...over...it's the rearing them that is the *****...you just take the good stuff and it gets you through...but you have every right to be afraid...very afraid..having a baby is an act of faith...you just jump in kiddo and swim..good luck

I won't lie, there is pain and stress involved in being pregnant and being a mother. However, in most cases the pain and suffering are outweighed by the joys of motherhood.

Having kids is hard. You'll know when you're ready if your not yet, then take care of yourself.

You're not ready. Either that or you really don't want kids.
