Talk to your doctor and he/she will determine if you are fit to travel.

my wife has flown for nearly 12 hours (to Brazil) when at 28 weeks, without any problems.

airlines will typically NOT accept you beyond 28 weeks, this is telling you something also.

I'm not sure the flight can be over 18 hours, I think the longest airline flight is the Singapore New-York, at 18.5 hours, and that's a good deal longer than any other flight?

what the issues are? Air cabin pressure not so much, it is about the same as that at 10'000 feet (3'000 meters). Blood stream, I mean unpregnant passengers can have veinous problems on long haul, so just imagine, a pregnant woman!

I am actually high risk 1cm dialted and 20%effaced and my perinatologist told me that I can fly where i want as long as I feel good enough to fly. With a healthy pregnancy you can fly up to your 36th week with no worry. High Risk 32weeks if you are allowed.

So I say go for it, have a good time, and enjoy yourself. The baby might kick around a bit during take off and landing, but otherwise it shouldn't bug baby too much. Try and get an aisle seat to help accomidate for the frequent bathroom breaks you will need to take. I can also tell you, make sure they know you need lots of water, staying hydrated will help fight contractions.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Enjoy your stay in India

My sister travelled in Jan-feb and her daughter was born in May 1st week. check with your OB-GYN, be active on the flight, keep walking every hour. take all your medicines with you [its better you know some gyn. in india - just in case] eat only home cooked food and drink boiled water. good luck

Guidelines are not to travel after 35 weeks. Techniclaly you should be fine but in the end it is up to you.

Many airlines won't let you fly after a certain point anyways, so check with them. And I wouldn't great prenancy or not, it is risky and to be so far away. But your choice! Good Luck

when you go to India you have to take vaccines - 1 example is Yellow Fever - i don't think you should even go to India - because there is a chance that you can pass on disease to your baby...

Nope...I defiantly would not risk it. NOTHING is more important to me than my unborn daughter. I have put off alot of things and that's just me.
