Ok I am going to try and keep it brief but there is a lot of history behind my situation. My mom hasn’t always been ok with my husband, prior to us being married. There is just reason behind it. Then to top everything off we ran off and eloped and his parents knew and mine didn’t (my choice). Ok so lets fast forward almost three years. Things between my mom and husband are GREAT and my husband and I are expecting our 1st child and my mom and mother-in-law are planning our baby shower together. Well I thought it was together, turns out my mother-in-law kind of took over and now my mom feels left out. Now my mom didn’t tell me this I was told by someone else. My mom is trying to be accommodating. So my husband and I called my mom-in-law and talk to her about it. Turns out now we have hurt her feeling and she is all up set. AHHHHH I just want everyone to be happy. We thought it was GREAT that are parents were doing things together, working on a relationship. Were we wrong to call her and talk to her?

I'm from Michigan and I got a letter today that I have to serve in jury duty. I called though to tell them that I am a stay at home mother breastfeeding and so they dismissed me until June 2008. But we plan on getting pregnant after the new year so I might possibly be 5 months pregnant along at the time I will have to serve Jury Duty. Do they allow pregnant woman to serve? Will I have to call again if I'm pregnant or just go in and they'll see that I'm pregnant and dismiss me? What are the chances of having to do this when I'm young and starting a family!! I actually got the first papers to fill out for jury duty while I was pregnant with my first baby.

Last week I posted several questions asking for advice concerning pregnancy. I felt certain that I was but took two hpts (both in midafternoon) saying negative. One was digital (the first one) and the second one was a dollar store brand... I've heard those work very good tho. I had extremely sore breasts, fatigue, and mood swings as well as constant hunger and just a feeling. I was over a week late. I doubt very strongly it was hoping because I really don't want a child right now (I'm only 20 and am much to busy to take care of a baby). Well, I talked to my partner's mom Fri and she told me to take asprin for an ongoing headache. I took 2 and 6 hours later 2 more- it didn't go away. Sunday nite I started bleeding very light pink (only on TP). Then Monday morn a brown discharge started (dry). This has continued on into today and is accompanied by severe cramps. My question: I just heard asprin is bad for you when pregnant? Could it have caused an early term miscarriage?

I am a full-time mother to two boys under two. Finding it really difficult to do anything other than spend time with the boys and do the basics. Feeling badly that so much remains undone.

I want a baby... But I'm so afraid right now. My husband and I both work in law-enforcement and its so dangerous for us at work. And I see kids everday who have, what I call HORRID PARENTS. I cannot help but think... '' What if I'm a screw up?'' ''What if my son ends up doing this stuff '' Everyone knows that the sheriffs kids are usually the worlds worst... That is how it was when I was growing up anyway.
My husband is getting excited, I've been excited. But now I'm getting scared. I've got less than 2 weeks before they do a c-section. I cant wait to be a mom, but I'm in no hurry to screw up...
Any advice to calm down?

Would you be mad if your husband missed his child being born? My wife's due date is in 3 weeks from now and I would never miss it. I'm there for her. What does your husband being for the child birth has any effect on you?

I want to start a blog, it will focus on my adventures in parenting, my submersion into natural living, cooking and household budgeting...but not like uuber you have to do this and that enviromentally perfect either. I just want somewhere to share my thoughts and ideas with other semi-natural, somewhat offbeat families. Any ideas?

I've never heard of this idea until I saw it at http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/20464264/ and I think it's the craziest thing I've ever heard, especially the part at the end about the mother helping the little girl pee in the sink of a public restroom. Feedback! I wanna know what you think!

This is something I got to wondering, nobody take offense please... But if you are a mommy/daddy to be, and you or your wife were expecting and it turned out to be a high risk pregnancy, which would you choose to keep alive if the time came to make a choice?
I would think to keep the woman alive because you can make another child together, but once your partner is gone, that's it, no more wife/love of your life, no more planning... This isn't about me or anything, but it is a question I've wondered about before...
Thanks for any input!

My baby is already 18 months old, and it seems like he was born yesterday. I have been taking pictures like MAD, but I feel like its not enough to preserve the memories. They grow up so fast!!

What should I do to sort of........slow things down?

Any ideas on ways to remember everything? I have a TON of pictures, but I'm looking for something else.

Our son will be born any day now and we are set in the names we will use we just want to know what others think of them... Every time we tell someone in person they seem to love the names but I wonder how much of that is politeness?? SO you be the judge http://www.babynames.com/namelist/9531152

I'm just wondering, I am technically pro-choice just because I don't believe big government should be dictating people what to do, but I am personally against abortion and would never want my wife or girlfriend or friend for that matter ever getting one. But I'm wondering if maybe a woman who has been raped might feel disconnected from her baby, and might carry resentment towards that child.

My husband and I have decided we want to have a child. But first we would like to buy a new car. (Mine is old and unreliable... with no a/c. I would hate for my car to break down on the highway with a new born!) The car that we are in LOVE with is a two-door, so I guess my question is should we get the car that we really want, or a four-door car to save ourselves the hassle of getting the car seat in and out of the back? If you have experienced a situation like this, please comment. Thank you.

This woman my husband worked with drank alcohol almost every day or her pregnancy, smoked a pack of ciggarettes a day, and drank a few red bulls a day. she didnt care when every one told her how wrong it was. she said she didnt do anything with her son, and he came out with add...so she felt it was ok to do all these things her whole pregnancy. as a result, her daughter was born a dwarf( i know thats genetic), but also blind, deaf, retarded, and had under developed lungs and was in the hospital for about 3 months after her birth. shouldnt someone do something about these moms whose own actions affect their unborn childs life? especially now that her child is not going to really have a life like she should of had the chance to have? BTW she thinks that none of her actions have caused her child to be like that. And she says she in no way feels quilty about it.

I am not yet pregnant, but hope to be in the near future. I am currently in the market for a new car and want to get something that's infant/kid-friendly. I am small figured (5'2" and 115lbs.) and want something that is easy to get children in and out of. Obviously, a large SUV wouldn't be compatable because I'd have to lift my child high, but what would you recommend? Is a minivan best like everyone claims? such as the Honda Odyssey? Or is a 4-door car best? such as a Honda Accord? Please let me know your recommendations or experiences. Thank you :)
