sounds like your chances are pretty good of having a c-section. these days they do a c-section at the drop of a hat. I wouldn't worry about it though, I had one and I healed up really quickly. good luck! congratulations!

Unless your blood pressure reaches a critical point they are unlikely to "force" you to have a c-section unless it was an emergency for you and the baby. They may encourage you to consider an induction to have the baby a bit early rather then let you go to term depending on what size the scans say your baby is at as you get closer to term.
However if you'd prefer a c-section they may just let you have it since babies of mom's with gestational diabetes have a much higher weight and are at more risk of a shoulder dystocia...the head delivers but the shoulders get stuck and that is very dangerous for the baby.

I was diagnosed with high blood pressure in the late stages of my last pregnancy. My blood pressure got dangerously high and the medication didnt do anything so they decided that they would have to induce me. As far as my experience went, if my blood pressure didnt go as high as it did, they would have just waited for the baby to arrive on his own. I think first they would induce and only if that was definately not going to work and they need the baby out then they would go to the c-section but generally they leave the c-section for the last option. There is plenty of medication they can give you if need be, to hold you out till full term

When I was having babies, many years ago, c-sections made up 40-50% of deliveries. It's probably changed--good idea to research. I had HBP, toxemia, pre-term labor, etc. The dr. wanted me to have a VBAC but I wanted a c-section. So I had to try to VBAC. After 2 hours of pushing a big kid through narrow hips, I finally got my c-section. My baby looked like he'd been run over :(. The main problem I felt was that I'd pushed, so I had everything but the episiotomy to hurt downstairs, and a c-section on top. That's okay. My son never did things conventionally anyhow.

C-section's a breeze. Have an epidural, 20 min later, baby's out and they're sewing you up.

They can't make you you have a c-section. You are the boss. You hired them to care for you, and if you don't want any of the treatments they offer you, you have the right to say no. You tell them what you want. If they fail to convince you of their point of view, you do things your way.

Have a healthy baby!

well i would say your chances are 50/50, only because there are only 2 ways of having your baby. My son was born naturally(9 days late), and my daughter was born 9 days overdue by emergency c-section. It all depends on what condition you and the baby are in. My sister had gestational diabetes and it went away before she had her baby. Good Luck! :)

you may have to have one. if it puts stress on you or the baby they will, but they should let you go natural unless it fails
