I'm just wondering, I am technically pro-choice just because I don't believe big government should be dictating people what to do, but I am personally against abortion and would never want my wife or girlfriend or friend for that matter ever getting one. But I'm wondering if maybe a woman who has been raped might feel disconnected from her baby, and might carry resentment towards that child.

Carry resentment toward the child?!!! What are you, nuts? The baby would be the product of a sick perverted criminal and a woman who was forced to have sexual relations against her will. And anyone who says that that's G--'s will is a sick, perverted bastard just as bad as the rapist. So yes, they should have an abortion. How sick can anyone be to think that the product of a a rape should be brought to term? And, yeah, it makes me angry!

Very touch subject, isn't it? Personally I would say that is not immoral. It is not as if God is not aware of what has happened to that woman. And it is hard enough to grow up or to raise a 'wanted' child, let alone the product of a rape.
About an abortion, I feel that the immortal soul cannot be 'killed' or 'murdered.' If a woman is compelled to get an abortion though I believe that it should be done before the end of the first trimester. After that point in time I do not feel that abortion is o.k. Above all though, I don't feel that it is my right to judge another for their decision concerning this matter, God is the judge.

That is a moral question between a woman and her God.
Legally she should have the option to have a abortion. Or have one the people that say she should adopt raise their hand and the baby!
This is such a personal & difficult question for a woman to overcome. She would need lots of counseling before and after her decision is made.

I'm also pro-choice.

Abortion is abortion no matter how you look at it. I don't understand people who say they are against abortion, unless it's because of rape. If they are pro-life, then there are no exceptions!!

I think it would differ from woman to woman rather they would feel disconnected to the baby or not; so i can't answer that!

It still doesn't change my believe that a baby inside the womb has the same right to life as a baby outside the womb. If it's not okay to kill a baby after it's born, because it's a product of rape, then I don't think it's okay to abort it. That is a very sad situation though. My friend in high school was a product of rape, and she was given up for adoption. She was very glad that her mother decided to give her to a loving home and has never resented her mom for that at all. Of course these days they have the morning after pill that a woman can get in the hospital after they do a rape kit, so she shouldn't get pregnant.

I think that abortion is a terrible thing to do to an innocent child who wasn't given a choice as to whether or not to be conceived. I think that women need to realize that they are murdering their unborn child if they get an abortion. Women tend to see abortion as an easy way out of a life time commitment. I think that this is a terrible crime to commit and women should be ashamed of themselves for doing such a horrible thing. I don't think that abortion is acceptable in any case...the child is innocent!

oh boy, this is SUCH a hard question!

First of all, I don't even know if I should call myself "pro-life" or "pro-choice" lol
I believe it's immoral, and am extremely opposed to people using abortion as a form of birth control...however I think abortion IS acceptable in cases of rape, incest or medical necessity.

And yet, even though I feel those exceptions should be socially acceptable and justified reasons, the only time I feel it is MORAL is when it is a case of medical necessity.

i would think that some women would feel that way, to some it may just be a reminder..I am pro-choice. I think if a women is in this type of situation and is going to resent the child I would do it as soon as I found out, before it develops into a fetus

i see your point. i wrote an essay on this ( Roe vs Wade). at the time was for it. if you get raped then its okay to abort, but being pregnant twice you develope feeling for the baby. plus it may actually help you find out who your rapest was if you go to police and tell them to run a DNA test on the baby and see if they find a match in there data base!!
I understand the growing resentment towards the child but that child is also of your blood

im against abortions but i think if you are raped you should be able to get one, it was forced on you and no one wants to bring a baby into this world from violence. its just not a good start.
