One of my cousins is 2 and has not started talking yet. He doesn't even say words and I have never heard him make sounds. His parents have taken him to the doctor to be checked and there was nothing found to be wrong. However, I fear that his parents have a very set routine for their son which includes what time he eats, sleeps, goes for walks, what activities he does and what time he does all these things. They also feed him all feshly prepared meals of only vegetables, fruit and fresh meat. My cousin does not like being around other people and will cry if someone even looks at him who isn't his mum and dad. Are my aunty and uncle just doing a good job raising their first son and only son or are they spoiling him and causing him future social problems for the future?

We're having a newborn baby coming up in June. One of our friends has the ability to watch our baby while we work but her boyfriend, who also lives there, is HIV+ and has been for 20 years. The girl gets tested monthly and doesn't have it.

Would you want your newborn watched in a house with him there?

What about with the agreement that he doesn't touch the baby?

Any smart thoughts or comments on this?

How do you retain sanity? What made you decide you had to have another child? When you made your decision, what influenced you? Lastly, do you ever regret having "too many" children? (As someone with no children and seeing how few well behaved kids, there are out there, I'm curious.)

I have wanted to be a mother my whole entire life.

I have done everything I could to get further in life. For example taking high school courses in middle school and then college courses in high school. I have always been ahead of my peers and have always had my plan set out. I was able to graduate at 16 because of all this planning I was doing and I also had quite a few Advanced Placement courses that followed me to college. After I graduated I moved in with my boyfriend.

I was going to college working full time and had a cousin [long story but he’s our dependent now] to take care of. My boyfriend and I were working into a routine and found out we were fabulous for each other so we got married. I was so close to having my degree at the time so we decided to try for a child. A year and a half later I got pregnant. I was finished with most school and really excited to become the mother I felt I prepared myself to be.

Was I wrong to want to have a child at a young age that my husband and I could and can fully support? Was that wrong after I worked so hard to get what I wanted? What am I missing out on? Drinking, drugs, or “care-free” days? I’m so sick of stereotypes and plain ignorant people. Why are people plain rude when I actually worked my butt off to become a mother? I would really love to know!

I know how to roll the diapers and tape them, but what do you use to keep the layers together? Do you just stack them up or is there something that holds them together? What kind of baby items make good decorations?

My father is a triplet and I was wondering if my chances of one day having twins or triplets is greater than normal because of that.

I've never officially looked into this because I am not thinking about children right now, I haven't asked my doctors or anything but I was always curious and I thought I'd just ask you fine folks.

I have a young child. Would you give that job up to take a job that allowed you two afternoons a week with your child? Benefits will be available at the new job. Current company not family friendly, new company will bend over backwards to accomodate.

I would go back to a full time job in a year or two. What would Moms out there do? I am 35, so this may be my only baby. BUT, but lowering my salary I decrease the chances I'll have another. Any advice, especially from women who have done this would be great.

I like to work, but need more time with my baby!

Has anyone heard of the lady who came up with this? She seems very smart. I've tried it out on my little niece and nephew and it works. I find this very interesting. Any input on your experiences with this?

Do you think that when a child comes to you about bullying at school and you dont really have a satisfying answer,or your not sure you answered them the best way, would they eventually stop asking you for help thinking you just dont know and cant help?
I think that is the trouble when a child comes to you for help when you dont know what to do your self. That must make a child feel like they have no one to help them and they therefore dont develope the skills themselves.
What should we do as parents when we fear our child isn't developing those important skills because WE didn't have correct advice from our parents, because they didn't know either?
I mean, saying ' just ignore them' or the likes doesn't work and doesn't give the child strong tools to develope confidence to deal with these situations. Thanks ; )

Within the next 7 weeks my little one will be here. I am planning on breast feeding, but want to buy a pump incase I have to go somewhere without her. Any suggestions as to which is a good one? I have heard that a double pump is the only way to go. Are manual breast pumps worst than electric? So confused! Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

I am pragnant and dont know who the father is at this stage.I am booked in for a scan to find out how far i am.when i know that i'll know who the father is. Both possible fathers are aware of the situation but they and their families all want to know the DNA results BEFORE birth.I can understand their concerns but dont want a needle through my stomach and risk having another misscarrage.I am booked in for a scan in a weeks time which should tell me the result....there's 3 weeks between partners.Should i go ahead with the DNA test to satisfy others knowledge?Or will the scan results be enough information to give an accurate answer?

I am 5 weeks pregnant and yesterday i started bleeding. I have no cramps and when i attended hospital they told me that my cervix was closed and that at that time it was a threatened miscarriage. This was at 1pm yesterday and I am still bleeding now. It is like a usual period however usually on my first day I get terrible pain which often makes me vomit. I have no pain now. At the hospital they took a blood test to check my HCG levels. I am now due to go back in the morning for another check on my HCG. This is my first pregnancy and it is very much wanted. I am now getting myself into a terrible state and am convinced that I am miscarrying. Also when I got up yesterday morning my breasts were very sore and tender but today now I have no pain in them at all - could this mean I have miscarried. I am going out of my brain and am frightened that if I havnt miscarried already the state I am in will cause me to. I just have a terrible feeling that I have already miscarried. Please help
