Do you think that when a child comes to you about bullying at school and you dont really have a satisfying answer,or your not sure you answered them the best way, would they eventually stop asking you for help thinking you just dont know and cant help?
I think that is the trouble when a child comes to you for help when you dont know what to do your self. That must make a child feel like they have no one to help them and they therefore dont develope the skills themselves.
What should we do as parents when we fear our child isn't developing those important skills because WE didn't have correct advice from our parents, because they didn't know either?
I mean, saying ' just ignore them' or the likes doesn't work and doesn't give the child strong tools to develope confidence to deal with these situations. Thanks ; )

Interesting... well first of all, always be honest with your child.
If you honestly dont know how to help or what advise to give... tell them that - but still be positive. What do adults do when they have a problem - they go look for a solution (hopefully)
Go in search of a solution with your child - if you dont know, find someone who does, and you and your child can go and talk with that person.
I am sure there are such people as bullying counsellors, perhaps look into that.
Its a great lesson to give a child - if you need help go find it. If there is a problem you can always find a solution - or find a person who will be able to help you find one!
Stick together... let the child know they can trust you and you can try to help them with anything - and the things you cannot personally help with, assure them you will be right there helping and supporting them, working together to find someone who can.

NEVER be afraid of seeking help if its needed :)
That goes for every area of life.

You should really put yourself in their situation and try to understand their problems correctly. Think of yourself in the same situation and fidn out how you would have reacted and advise the child accordingly. In a situation like this where a child is being bullied, it is best to tell a child to learn to stand up and put the bully in place. This will help a child understand that most bullies are really cowards who are trying to hide their own problems.

parents do the best they can there are things out there that allot of us don't know anything about what we have to do is face this I'm not goo with math but that does not mean my kids will never learn math that just means i tell my kids i can not help them with it but i will get them someone that can help them we don't have to know everything and i think the best thing we can do for them is tell them we don't know all but we will take the time to find them the help they need no matter where or how we have to get it for them so they know they are important to us
