My mom is Grammy and my boyfriends mom is Grammy Terry (because after she heard what my mom was going to be, she wanted the same thing for herself). My grandma is Meme and my boyfriends grandma says she wants the baby to call her Granny, but I'm fairly sure she's kidding.
My great-grandma goes by Nannie, and otherwise, everyone is grandma.

How about a variation of her name. For instance, if her name is Mary, her "grandmother name" could be Mar-May. Or if her name is Nina, her name could be Ni-Na.

Well, 'Big Momma' works in my family.
But we only call my mom's grandma that, (The black side of the family)
So it depends on ethencity.
You could do 'Meema'
