My daughter will be a year this month. She's still on formula. I don't know if I should start giving cow's milk or give the "next step" formula (for 9-24 months babies). I rather give the cow's milk honestly because it's cheaper but is it the right time?

i delivered my baby one month ago and because ive been soo tired i havent been breastfeeding as often.. it went from 10 times a day to about 2 or 3. will my milk supply still stick around? is it better than nothing or is it the same as if i didnt breastfeed at alll? does he get ANY benefit out of it?

I was wondering if i teaspoon in 4 ounces of formula was just enough to make it a little bit thicker not too much. My baby is 1 month old but she wakes up every 2 hours and eats 4 ounces. I am in need of some desperate sleep and she is not sleeping during the day very much. I have heard different opinions about giveing her cereal already but it's my choice.

My 10 week old son doesn't wake up or respond to claps in his ear or me speaking his name clearly very close to his ear when he's sleeping or awake. He responds and jumps to crumpling paper in his ear though. Could my son having a hearing problem? He passed his hearing tests in the hopsital right after birth and he has full 'conversations' with me all the time - he makes noises, I mimic or talk back, then he speaks again, etc.

i had my son 5 wks ago and got second degree tears, all on the outside. my husband and i really want to resume our sex life asap (its killin me). we tried fooling around yesterday and he honestly couldnt go in a 1/4 inch before i had this sharp pain as if someone was snipping me with a little pair of scissors. we stopped obviously cuz that certainly wasnt going anywhere. it feels way smaller than before and worse than the first time we ever did it (i lost my virginity to him). we figured it just needed to stretch back into shape but then today we were just laying in bed and he tried to use his finger instead... again, same result. now im right jumpy when he goes even just on my leg close to the area and scared of hurting myself. i mean, it must be pretty tight if a finger wont even go in there... is it possible that i was sewed up too tightly which sounds ridiculous, i know, but i swear thats what it feels like. im going to wait another 2 wks to let it heal more before trying again :(

why does my son cover his ears ( that way we would if something was loud ) when he crys and screems. this happens when he is not in someones hands. his doctor says he grabs his ears becuase he maybe teething ( 4 months old) he has no fever so its not a ear infection.

Does anyone there have kids that were not vaccinated. What's your view on it? there is so much controversy about vaccines. I'm not sure what's the right thing to do. I am not big on drugs.

My friend is having problems breastfeeding. Her baby latches on trys to suck but then stop.Is any milk coming out? She tryed to pump but nothing came out. What should she do?

i never leak and i never became painfully engorged when my milk came in and i never feel a "let down" and when i pump after a feeding i can never get more than a 1/4 oz and that' if im lucky. i started supplementing with formula at night because i felt that i could not satisfy my baby. he is now 7 weeks old and i am still breastfeeding almost the entire day he either falls asleep on my breast from sucking for so long or he eats as much as he can (i do as much breast compression as i can) and cries about 20 minutes later from hunger and i feel like im pretty empty. i dont know what to do i'm a prisoner in my own home and i feel awful because he's starving after nursing him a whole day -i can feed him in the evening with a bottle immediately after a feeding and he'll inhale 5-6 oz. what can i do? do i just not have enough milk? and please dont blame it on the formula and say all i have to do is nurse because i tried it and he never seemed content. is there any solution? HELP!

I've been nursing for 11 months due to my son's allergic reaction to formula. I'm hanging in there, just bearly...My son has 4 teeth on top, and 2 on the bottom, and has been nawing me, now both nipples are cut raw, pumping hurts, & it's excruciating to nurse him. I think the sippy cup he chews on encouraged him to naw me. I pop his leg, and tell him no, no, I've even tried to stop nursing as soon as he chomps down, but it only infurriates my poor baby. The wailing is too much for me to stand. I've used peroxide and Lansinoh to heal them up. I've almost weaned him, he only nurses for breakfast-time comfort, nap times, and bed-time. He eats Gerber stage 3 for lunch, snacks & dinner. What is the harm in giving my son whole milk now? What difference does 3 weeks make? Would it be ok to give it to him an 8 ounce bottle of whole-milk ONLY once a day to wean him slowly off of breastmilk? I'm waiting till I get a reply from his Pediatrician since Fri., today is Sun...

However, he can not SIT unassisted. If I place him in a sitting position, he will fall forward. He was born 4 weeks early, so I don't panic when he's a little behind, but it seems like his development is out of order. I have 2 older children who were already sitting at this age and did not crawl or stand until after they could sit.

He has never been in a stroller, I have always worn him or my husband has worn him on his back. He has also had very strong legs since birth and started using an exersaucer since 3 months old. Of course, he is in a sitting position in his car seat.

Anyhow, does this seem odd? Is it anything to bother the doctor over since he is developing normal in other ways?

My son will turn 3 months old next week and has already cut his first tooth. I have three other children, all their teeth came in after 6 months so I have no experience with this.

For the past two weeks he'd been a grouch and this is coming from a baby that rarely ever cries and always laughs. He began holding us tightly, screaming in his sleep and when awake, drooling, trying to knaw on everything, and the whole diaper issue. I saw a white spot on his lower, left (front) gum but dissmissed it saying it was too early. Yesterday was horrible, he wouldn't stop screaming, I looked and indeed it was a tooth trying to come through. Today he's much happier and there is a razor sharp, white thing sticking out of the gums. Yes the tooth has arrived...early. I breastfeed and now wonder how much longer I'll be able to feed him like this. He's too little to understand that biting hurts.

Any advice? I'd love to hear others that dealt with this as well.

My 7 wk old infant daughter has colic & in the last 3 weeks she has started not going to the bathroom but is not constipated. I've gone to the doctor regular & ER 1 time & it isn't helping. I have been unable to let her go for the week that they say a breastfed baby can wait until going poop b/c she is inconsolable with pain if I do. Shes breastfed, takes simethicone regularly & given glycerin suppositories as dr recc'd up to 2/day but still having pxs. I've tried baking soda & sugar as recc'd for sour stomach. I've tried diluted prune juice as recc'd but it hasn't helped. I try rubbing/pressure on her tummy which she doesn't like, patting back, bouncing, holding, walking, white noise, vibrations, dark room, try diapering & feeding too. When she goes poop, it is liquid but everyday her tummy rolls, she strains squirms and cries & nothing comes out. If I wait 24+ hours to see if she goes, all she leaves is skid marks in her diaper, & is inconsolable day & night. Any suggestions?
