My son will turn 3 months old next week and has already cut his first tooth. I have three other children, all their teeth came in after 6 months so I have no experience with this.
For the past two weeks he'd been a grouch and this is coming from a baby that rarely ever cries and always laughs. He began holding us tightly, screaming in his sleep and when awake, drooling, trying to knaw on everything, and the whole diaper issue. I saw a white spot on his lower, left (front) gum but dissmissed it saying it was too early. Yesterday was horrible, he wouldn't stop screaming, I looked and indeed it was a tooth trying to come through. Today he's much happier and there is a razor sharp, white thing sticking out of the gums. Yes the tooth has arrived...early. I breastfeed and now wonder how much longer I'll be able to feed him like this. He's too little to understand that biting hurts.
Any advice? I'd love to hear others that dealt with this as well.

I've heard of babies being born with a tooth!!! So 3 months doesn't surprise me.
You do need to take good care of this little tooth, making sure to clean it daily with cotton wool and water, or which ever method you choose (carefully read all baby/children's toothpaste).
Help ease his pain with a cool cloth, try sticking it in the freezer door for a few mins to give it an extra cold feeling to numb his pain.
A baby who is latched on and nursing properly cannot bite the breast. If the nipple is positioned far back in his mouth, and his lips and gums are positioned about an inch behind the nipple on the areola, then his tongue will cover his gums, between his lower teeth and your breast. If he is actively nursing, he can’t bite – and if he is biting, he can’t be actively nursing at the same time. He should never really close his teeth on the breast while nursing, but his upper teeth will occasionally cause an imprint on the areola due to slight pressure exerted during feedings. This usually occurs with older babies, and is seldom painful. If it is uncomfortable, you can take him off and re-latch him. That will usually take care of the problem.
I hope this has helped

Some babies are born with a tooth in already! Some don't get teeth til after a year. It really varies.
As for nursing- if he bites you-unlatch him. He will catch on. Your nipple should get calloused after feeding him so the tooth won't bother you after a while. Keep trying, breast milk is the best thing you can give your baby besides love!

So what? My little cousin has had a tooth since he was born last year. Well, he has 8 teeth on the top and bottom of his mouth, but still. When you want to start bottle feeding him, just put some breast milk in a bottle (I don't know how though to get the breast milk though) and then start gradually switch back and forth between breastfeeding and bottle feeding and then after a while, permanently switch him to the bottle until he can drink out of a sippy cup. And then switch him to a normal glass or plastic cup.
Hope this helps for you.

Both of my kids grew in teeth early. You just need to start putting him on a bottle or bear with it. You can still breast feed if you give him a bottle. Just express the milk. I didn't breast feed so I don't know how that goes, but I had a friend that went through the same thing and that's what she did.

My girlfriend's baby was born with a tooth.
It is not uncommon to have early teeth.
Breastfeeding?
Ugh, I remember that all too well.
I nursed mine till he got both upper and lower teeth. He was about 10mos old. He would fall asleep and bite down and he would literally clamp onto me.
I said, enough was enough and quickly weened him to a sippie cup.

my son cut his first two teeth together at 4 months, i breast fed him until he was 26 months, biting does hurt so just stop feeding when he bites and reattach him, hell soon get fed up of it! try lansinoh cream for your nipples if they become sore apply after every feed it worked miracles for me! i also found that he didn't bite if his teeth weren't irritating him either. good luck!

My pedi said she witnessed a baby born with ALL of his/her teeth!
It can really vary. I didn't breastfeed so I can't help you there ~ but you can pump and feed!
Good luck!
