Someone my husband and I know is having a diaper shower this Thursday and we have no idea what that is. We think it means all she wants are diapers and no new clothes for the new baby. If anyone knows, that would be a great think to know. Thanks!

Is it normal for it to hurt for a bit when the baby latches on? The nipple itself is not sore anymore but it's almost like when he latches on the suction itself causes pain for about the first 20 to 30 seconds. I'm sure he is latched on correctly and I don't think I have any blocked ducts or anything. The book I have says that breastfeeding should not hurt at all if I am doing it correctly! Any suggestions?

Ok I just started babysitting for a 2 month old. THe mother told me to just feed him whenever he doesn't want his pacifier. I asked her for a feeding schedule but she said just whenever. He ate like an hour and a half ago and is content. I would like to get him on a schedule though. Any advice??

My daughter is 7 weeks old and I have been breastfeeding her since day one. I pump every 3 to 4 hours at work and at night try to alternate breast when feeding her. My problem is one breast is not producing enough milk. It looks really bad! One breast is a size A and the other is a C. I can not wear a nursing bra or a regular bra; I have to wear a very padded bra so I will not look crazy. What can I do to get the other beast to produce more milk? Please Help!!

My sister had her baby boy Oct 28th. He has since come home--and I noticed something yesterday that I have never seen before. His chest is swollen and somewhat hard-like 2 small lumps. His breast area seems to have some sort of fluid build up?! When you gently push on them--semi white fluid comes out. Just like a mother who is breast feeding! I have 2 kids and have never seen this. Does anyone know what this may be? He doesnt seem to be in any discomfort...it just surprised us.

We have looked at so many names. Most of them end in "a" so we didnt want a middle name ending in "a" eg sarah.

Also wanted a short feminine name.

Our surname starts with B and ends in "i"
Any ideas?

I have a four month old baby boy who is just adorable. He is the best thing to ever happen to my husband and I. He is starting to develop quite the temper though. My husband and I would like to teach him to sign so that he can communicate with us a little easier. I know it may be a little early for him to pick up on the signs until he is six months, but hey it is worth a try to start early. I am just wondering what methods have worked for you other moms and dads out there. Did you use DVD's, books, or just plain old doing the signs over and over? I really appreciate all of your opinions. Thanks!

My husband wants us to go skiing early next year. I've only ever been once so am not that great at skiing and by the time we go our son will be 11 months old. Can anyone recommend a ski resort which will cater for my husband's skiing and something for me and my son to do also during the day as I probably won't ski that much but the break will be lovely and experience of the different place for our son will be good too.

Adoption from China is a long, hard involved process, especially for a single gay man. However, I am beginning to see light at the end of the tunnel, and I may have my little girl by February.

I have 3 ideas in mind for names for my little girl, and I would like for you all to vote on these names, or suggest a few others. In no particular preference, these are the names that I like:

1) Madeleine Rose ("Rose" is my mother's name)
2) Eden Chantal
3) Lana Victoria

Please vote on these names. Thank you!
