Someone my husband and I know is having a diaper shower this Thursday and we have no idea what that is. We think it means all she wants are diapers and no new clothes for the new baby. If anyone knows, that would be a great think to know. Thanks!

A diaper shower is for those who have had previous kids and showers and think that it would be etiquette to only have a diaper shower for any kids after the first. Usually you just buy her some diapers, but I think that having kids you need all the help you can get, so if I know that there is something other then diapers that they need, I will add that to the diaper gift. You can never get to many diapers, clothes, baby wipes, bottles, socks, bibs etc. Also, something nice for mom is good too like body wash, lotion, night gown etc.

This is usually when someone has a 2nd or 3rd baby and they already have all the big stuff and if they are having a baby of the same sex, they may have all the clothes they need. Diapers are so expensive that it really helps to give diapers at the shower. The best place to get them is Costco. Size one diapers you get over 200 diapers for $29.99.

it sound to me they just need diapers. What I would suggest here is instead of bring a package of diapers, for my baby shower I am asking people to refrain from bringing diapers, buy a gift card from walmart so that why the parents can get the size then need instead of having a lot of size one diapers and the kid grows out of them and they still have a whole bunch left over.

A baby shower is for girls and they bring gifts for the parent's-to-be. A diaper party is for the men, all the men get together, play cards or something and every man brings a pack of diapers. Definitley go and pray that when you have a baby they give you one! They are wonderful!!! SAVES LOTS OF MONEY! Diapers are the BEST gift anyone can give you! I got a gift from my aunt that was a pack of diapers and a Kroger gift card. THE BEST!

Why don't you tell them that you've never heard of a diaper shower before and see what they tell you? I would rather ask then look stupid showing up with diapers if I wasn't supposed to. I can't imagine having a party and only getting diapers. I have 4 kids and never heard of a diaper party either.

It is a baby shower; of course!! I would buy a package of diaper and a gift card to Target or Walmart... Trust me a gift card to a to-be mother is better than any gift. (because she will not be disappointed) You can even wrap the diapers.. that would be cute!!

im a country boy...and a diaper shower around here is when all the guys get together to celebrate the birth of our buddies child...we all bring diapers, since diapers are so expensive.....and we also sip down a few beers...lol....so a baby shower is for the women, and the diaper shower is for the man.....thats the way it is around here....lol

Yeah, bring some diapers to the shower. It's a super way of getting stuff you "need" instead of all the extra baby stuff that isn't "necessary" - like toys, etc. Think of getting a gift that's useful... like a baby bath, baby soap/ shampoo, wash cloths, wipes, things like that. even the little baby toiletry kits.

You either bring a pack of diapers with your gift or sometimes they only want diapers if it's a 2nd child or something...
