My 10-week old daughter has run into a recent sleep pattern that I'd like to try to help her out of. Lately, she'll fall asleep for about 20 minutes during the day and then wake up. She's not always crying when I come in to see what's she's doing...sometimes she's just fussing a bit. But, 99% of the time, she looks completely awake as if she's just taken a 2-hour nap! Then, half an hour later, she needs another nap. This time, I'm positive she'll want to go down for longer, but no -- 20 minutes at the max! This continues throughout the daylight hours. (She actually does 3 to 4 hour stretches at night.) Anyone have any tips to help her sleep a bit longer? She used to take better naps...this is just a recent thing. I'm wondering if growth spurts can cause sleeplessness? (She's also got an enormous appetite :) and seems happy when she's awake to play.) I'm not crazy about the "cry it out" theories, because I don't want to miss a real problem she might have. Thanks!

My 3 month old always wants to pull the blanket over her face when she is sleeping. I don't get much sleep anymore because I am constantly getting up to check on her. I have tried turning out all the lights because I thought maybe it could be the lamp bothering her and she still pulls it over her head and pretty much tucks it under her chin. Any suggestions? Because I am terrified of her doing this

My 4 month old son spits (or even vomits - I'm not sure what exactly that is) a lot. During evening hours he does that every time he's prompted to burp. Some of such spiting are forceful and go in series of 3-4. Could that be because I was praising him ("good boy") since birth every time he'd have a successful burp, so now he tries too hard letting not only the air out but breast milk as well?

Is it possible for a 6month old baby to suddenly develope colic?
For a while now about 3pm she becomes ratty & uncomfortable, cries alot & can't get settled. This stops about 6pm. She has never had this problem before & has never suffered with colic as a newborn.

For the past 2 days It's been a struggle to give my 6month baby a bottle but she wants to eat her solid food. She cries because she is hungry & when I try to give her a bottle she cries harder & wont drink although she will open her mouth to take a spoonful of food. She has not had any milk for 15hours now but she has had 2 meals of solids.
She does not sleep through the night but last night before bed I tried to give her bottle which she wouldn't take but slept a full 12 hours without waking. I'm not sure whether to take her to the doctors because I don't want to waste their time if she is eating her solids. She does not seem herself because she is crying alot & sleeping alot. Can anyone advise me on the best thing to do?

I am so excited, my son let go and started taking steps today! He'll do about 6 before he gets wobbly and falls down. It's adorable! He's 9 1/2 months old. My sister was walking his down the hall, letting him walk and she was holding him under the arms, and she let go to see what he would do. He stood there for a minute, and then took three little steps and fell down. After some coaxing, he did it again, and now he will go from one person to another, or from say, the chair to the coffee table on his own.

I want to hear about everyone else's babies, and when they took their first steps. Does anyone have any cute or funny stories they'd like to share?
