well, Gaseous Abdominal Distention is the common problem in infants (under 1 year), and may disturb children under 5.
1. When feeding the baby, the nipple should be completely in his mouth, or if bottle fed the angle should be 45 degrees (so that there is no air in the nipple of the bottle). This prevents child engulfing air.
2. After feeding tap(slap) the baby on his back, just behind the abdomen, just above his buttocks and not behind the chest for 5 min daily 5-6 times. Make the baby, pronated (lie face down) on your lap, or on bed, or put on your shoulder with his both hands above your shoulders, and then tap(slap) on his back
3. Antispasmodics are available with different names (Minicol drops, Spasmodine drops, Colic drops). Use drops uptil 6 months.
4. If there is associated GERD (Gastro-esophageal reflux disease), which menifests by the baby vomiting the milk after eating and crying. then don't put the baby supine 20 min after feed, carry him on your shoulder after feed, so that milk doesn't regurgitate. And try TAB. GAVISCON, half tablet (meshed) in milk 4 times a day.
Be ware not to use the syrup, because the TAB. GAVISCON is used here as FEED THICKNER, and not for gastroprotective effects, as in peptic ulcer disease.

I am not a doctor but have an year old baby and faced similar challenge. However doctor mentioned that the real cause of colic is still not known and all babies seem to have this and there is no way yolu can stop. He advised a syrup called colicaid ( available in India - I do not know where you are from ) and that seem to work wonders. But never mind ,though it feels bad when you see baby crying in pain but I tell babies have immense power to overcome all these.

What formula is the baby on? If baby is on soy formula that would explain the gas. Sometimes babies are lactose intolerant and need a different type of formula.
If you are breast feeding then you could be eating the wrong foods and she is getting gas from that
She may have a digestive problem and you may want to seek another opinion from a different doctor
For now keep her belly warm and rub it - hold her upright even if you have to sleep in a chair with her; I had to do that with my son because I was scared he would die of SIDS because my cousin's son had died at 4 months.
Here is a really good article on colic

Have you tried baby massage? Lie her on your lap, on his tummy. Gently rub his back and arms, circling, with some baby oil. It will help him relax.
Alternately, steam from the shower can help with colic. Try sitting in the bathroom with her while your partner has a shower.
Try keeping her upright to help with the gas.
Good luck.

Go get colic medication from your pharmacay. Buscopan really works. In addition to that, avoid rich foods such as peanuts, peanut butter, butter, and veges like cabbage, tomatoes, onions. There's a lot of food that can cause or aggravate colic, eliminate them one by one to see which ones are bad. Reintroduce them one at a time. Cow milk taken by you can also aggravate it.

I used a warm water bed with small waves I created while my babe was laying on his tummy. I know that is a NO-NO now a-days but I am an old lady and all 4 of my babes slept on their tummies from birth. When that was not available a heating pad SET ON THE LOWEST SETTING, wrapped in a towel with my babe in a carseat (or similar) sitting on the washer on the spin cycle DO NOT leave your babe unattended if you try this one! Sounds crazy, I was desperate and both worked.

Lay the baby across your lap on her belly.
Burp her before you feed her. While you feed her and after you feed her. This will pass.
