They don't need ANY unless it's very hot outside.

I was told by my doctor that all water the baby needs is in the breastmilk or formula that it drinks. Maybe in the summer you could give them a bit of water when it is really hot out. I never gave my kids extra water till they were over a year old.

You aren't supposed to give a child anything other then breast mild or formula but yeah I don't even follow that rule I didn't with my first son and he the most healthy 2 year old that I have ever met I started him around 6 months old with purified water for hiccups and it wokred better then gripe water. My dauter now going to be 3 months old soon I use water with her now for hiccups and doesn't hurt her any. Just please do not add any juice to his/her bottle until they are at least 9 months old and especially not apple juice that is so bad for the teeth that will be coming. Here try this site I get alot of information off of it http://www.askdrsears.com/ Good Luck!

Depending on your baby. If you're worried for a particular reason as to why you should control his water intake (low body weight, etc.) then you should consult with your pediatrician. Good luck!

When my daughter was 6 months old I would give her half water half apple juice but not water alone. Maybe if they are constipated you can but not sure.

babies should not be given water......they get enough fluids from either breast milk or formula.....all water will do is fill their stomachs but not provide any nutrients....this will in turn possibly make them not want milk or a bottle
