My baby has an intense sucking need. She is just now finding her hands and fingers and is trying to suck on them. I would rather her take a passy. I have heard that babies that do not get that sucking comfort have oral problems in the long run. How can I encourage the passy instead of the fingers?

Our baby is due next month, and yesterday my husband and I were shopping for baby clothes and we saw some little outfits for a baby to be baptised in. He asked when would we get him baptised, and I replied that I didn't want him baptised. Religion has never been an issue before. He has a religion and I don't. I believe that our baby should be able to choose whether or not he wants to be baptised. My husband was pretty upset when I told
him I didn't want our child baptised (though he doesn't go to church or anything like that).

Do you think this is fair?
What should I do?

Thank you!

I am breastfeeding my third child. My seven week old baby refuses to take a bottle of expressed breastmilk from me, so I have to nurse her in public on occasion. Are there any products other than nursing shirts specifically made to assist in covering yourself while nursing, and what are your experiences with the products?

Here is my story. My son is almost nine weeks old. I breastfed him for about the first week, and pumped and bottlefed the second week after he was born. I suffered from severe postpardem depression and had to be medicated so he could no longer drink my milk, so I quit. Plus, with the depression the pumping was stressing me out more. Now, I am feeling much better and am no longer taking the medication that prevented me from breastfeeding. I would like to try to start pumping or breastfeeding againg because A. It is good for my son, and B. I could maybe lose weight faster. I'm just afraid that I might be messing with my hormones again and I do NOT want to slip back into a depression. What do you think?

My daughter will be 7 months in 4 days. What are some ideas of foods that I can feed her?
What are some foods that you have fed your 7 month old?
Easy to digest and good for her age?
I have already given her rice cereal, some mashed up bananas, papaya, a bit of apple juice etc...

My daughter is 4 weeks old and has been on similac advance since birth. She spits up a lot and has gas, so the doctor switched her formula to enfamil gentlease because she said she probably has a slight lactose allergy. How long will it take before I can tell if it is really working??

Well I feel I had nothing to lose at that age. There had been many times in my life when life was just boring. My son gives me stimulation and happiness.

I got a brand new moses basket from a friend of a friend who lost twins and had two moses baskets. It's been sitting unused for about a year. Is it wise to get a new mattress for it even though it ain't been used?

I have a question....not that I am really concerned just curious. I had a baby on the 3rd and his dad is very black but I am very white and he came out white. I was wondering if it takes them a while to get their color or do they not change.
