I don't see anything really wrong with that as long as your mind and body are ok with it.. it's better for a child to have a loving parent who is 40 anyway than an uncaring one who is 20. The only thing is just that you have to take good care of yourself so that you can live to be with your child for a longtime.

Many people are waiting until later in life to start having children. They're usually financially better able to deal with kids then, though there's definitely a drop off in energy level as you get older. I'd say as long as you're got the resources and are prepared to be a loving, caring parent, there's no reason not to start a family at 40.

Well, at one time I had a negative view of it, but 40 was old then too. Glad your happy with it. If he is still a child, just wait...they get even more "stimulating" lol, enjoy!

I'm glad you are happy with your situation. As for me, starting a family at forty would be disastrous. It's because I'm disabled with a rare disease. Had I known this was going to happen, I wouldn't of had any children just in case there was a genetic factor involved. Life is fun.

Not neccesarily the best idea to me, but if it works for you then that's wonderful :-)
I mean, he's going to be 10 when most people your age are grandparents. But I think with age comes wisdom and I think at 40 you'd be a better parent than most others. God bless!

Go for it! If your son is bringing joy to your life, that's wonderful. I know what you mean - my own child is the light of my life.

You may not have as much energy , but you will definitely have more wisdom. You're also usually more financially stable and less likely to make mistakes.
