We used Good Start with our daughter...now 1. She had green poo and it always smelled bad. She was constipated a lot and I had to help her get it out many times. Baby food made her constipated as she got older. She didn't have gas so much with the Good Start, but she did with the Similac that we first had her on. When I started to take her off of formula I tried Lactaid. Her poo was so hard that I couldn't imagine it being easy for her to get it out. She now drinks soy milk and hasn't had a problem since.
Being as formula is milk based, including the Good Start, I would switch her over to the Good Start Soy. I bet you'll see a big difference when she is on the Soy Formula. FYI, soy poo smells awful. It kinda smells like burnt popcorn. ;)
Good luck and congratulations on your sweet baby girl!!!

My baby started out on Similac Advance. Well, WIC in my state won't pay for SA so her ped told us to switch her to Good Start because it's WIC approved. We did this when she was a month old. She did become very constipated and her poop smelled way different than it did with the SA. So we switched back the the SA and she had no problems. I personally think it was the switching of the formula. Her Dr even said he didn't understand it, but alot of the babies he sees react that way to the Good Start after they have been on a different formula.

Are you cutting out trace amounts of dairy as well? And why are you supplemting with formula? I think if you cut out the trace dairy and cut out the soy formula, then baby's stools and gas won't smell so bad. If you have to supplement, try a lactose free formula. Your baby may also be sensitive to soy. You may actually have to eliminate some other foods from your diet, such as soy or wheat. Make sure to read lables carefully!

This formula worked great for my son. He would usually have at least one bowel movement a day with the Nestle Good Start. His bowels did stink and he did have some gas. If you are having problems with this stuff try stiring the formula instead of shaking it. You may want to also try using a different type of bottle. I really liked the D.r Brown bottle when my son was younger. Playtex Nursers and Parent's Choice (Walmart bottles) also worked well for my son.

all babies have different bowel habits just like adults have different bowel habits.try giving ur daughter a couple of ozs of water a day and it may not be constipation but despite what people may say iron doesnt cause constipation and babies need it because their bodies only store enough iron to last until their 6mos old. the formula is good just wait to see what she does. and definitely talk to ur doctor any time ur worried because their used to it and its better than u stressin

It depends on the baby, are you using the one in the purple can or the yellow can. The one in the yellow can is for older babies. The one in the purple can is for newborns, so is the one in the orange can, and it's healthier because it promotes brain development. I actually preferred carnation over any other brand because it's made to be gentle on their tummies.
I used it for 4 out of 5 of my kids. One was lactose intolerant so he had to be on pro so bee formula.

no formula should cause constipation, and the gas is normal (babies are born with an "immature" intestinal tract. and babies poop just stinks don't worry you fine and so is baby
