I have 3 children and I did it a little different with all of them.If $ is no issue then wait until the 1 year mark and then mix the milk and formula 50/50. This is to give the childs stomache ready for the switch and to prepare the tastebuds.Do this for about a week.If youre switching for finacial purposes, then Id suggest 6 months. My grandfather was 80 and very wise and he said that "what you girls have to offer your babies today is so much better than the goat we had in the backyard" and he was telling the truth. Can you imagine going out back and milking a goat for your baby.Anyways, they survived and so will ours!

Usually they say a year old. They also say that you should keep your baby on formula until he/she is eating at least 1 cup of solids from the different food groups in a day. My son is jsut about 11 months old and I switched him over to milk a month ago already and he is doing fine. It all depends on what ;your baby tells you and just remember you should talk to your doctor about this too. He may have other suggestions for you

Many babies drink breastmilk until age two or three, why the rush to wean your baby from formula.
I would say you can start dairy such as cheese, yogurt, and the milk you use in cooking. But formula is easier to digest and far more nutritious than milk. Unless your baby is a very healthy eater who is not picky at all I would stick to formula until age two, or longer to ensure proper nutrition.

My sister just switched her daughter to whole milk, and she's 12 months old. She just started with a little and is working her into it.

My daughter is 10 months and our doctor told us to start introducing it now. She's still on formula, but we're supposed to at an ounce or two of milk to her bottles. And then at 12 months she's supposed to switch completely!

I made the FULL transition when he turned 1, but my doctor recommended that I gradually start giving him small amounts of dairy when he was about 9 months. This was so his body was used to dairy already when he began drinking milk. I would give him baby yogurt or small pieces of cheese every now and then.

13 months, I mixed in 2 oz of whole milk to 6 oz of formula, then gradually increased the ratio of whole milk until he was used to it.

6 months. My pediatrician said that babies who are on whole milk at six months proved to be smarter, sleep better, and adjust better. I did it, and my daughter is very bright and has no other problems. She also had ear infections on formula, and when I switched her to whole milk, they stopped completely.
But ask your pediatrician first.
