My 6 month old son is "tongue tied"( the skin under the tongue is connected all the way to the tip). Has anybody else had any experiences with this? My pediatrician said it will probably fix itself. And we may have to have a ear nose and throat doc look at it.

My daughter is 6 months old. She has never been a good napper, but sleeps great at night (12 hours or so). I know that most kids take naps around 9am and then at 1pm. I have been trying to put her down around those times (but she rarely goes to sleep). However, lately she has been taking a short nap around 3 or 4pm. My question is, if my baby is in a good mood, not acting sleepy, etc...should I STILL try to put her down for a nap at 9 and 1? Or should I wait until she seems tired? I just feel like I spend the whole day trying to get my child to sleep, instead of just letting her be and watching her cues. What is the best thing? Thanks!!

i have an 8 month old son. awhile ago my doctor told me to use a multivitamin with flouride but it gave him a stomach ache. now he drinks the nursery water with flouride in it. is this good or not, i have read conflicting things. the doctor said he needed flouride but then people say not to use toothpastes with it for older kids because its bad? so what is it, flouride good or bad???

Where can I get poi online or in SE Michigan? Or taro root?
Poi is to be used as my baby's first food. But am having a difficult time finding a source. I live in the Detroit area but would be willing to drive an hour or more. Second choice is Taro Root so I can make my own poi.

Okay my son is 2 months old and he had been sleeping in the same room as me and his daddy. Well @ 6 weeks I started him in his crib... AND HE FREKIN HATES THAT THING which is kinda sad cuz I worked so hard on it. But NE Wayz I think he was jus soo used to sleepin with us Ill put him N his crib, Ive tried to let him go in there and play to get used to it in the day but he jus does NOT like to sleep in it, when hes a sleep, ill put him in the crib and he'll IMMEDIATELY wakes up and cries so I had to resort to putting him N his boucy then puttin that in tha crib. Now sum 1 suggested co-ed sleeping to reduce SIDS ( she said they mimic theyre mothers breathing pattern) and I worry about +SIDS so much I mean should he sleep with us until a certain age or is what Im doing fine Im reel confussed about this subject CAN SUM1 PLEASE HELP!!!!

i know this will sound silly and i know the answer is going to be it hurts! but when you are giving birth what actually hurts the most the labour or the actual "birthing" part just curious..

I have changed her formula twice. Including changing it to soy milk. I'm just concerned if this is a serious problem

What was the age that you started to give your baby whole milk? I have always thought that you should wait the entire first year, but my friend started her little boy at 9 month. My daughter is 9 months and I was wondering if any other mothers have started their kids earlier than the 1st year mark...

I have been breastfeeding for about a month now and I had no idea when I started that milk would spray from my breasts or it would leak and make big spots on my cloths usually in the most embarisaing times.

I figure that there are many funny stories all you moms have about it so please share.

I posted the question and accidently closed it early I wanted to get some more stories because the ones I got before were so great. Please share and look at the other question for the other stories.

I was talking to my girl friends the other day while we all feed our babies and the topic of hair on the areola came up. I had always been very self conscious about the hair I had there. I have always plucked it and thought I was the only one plagued with this problem. Well I found out the 4 of the 5 of us had hair on our areolas that we plucked. I was amazed.

I am curious is hair on the breast that common do 4 of 5 women actually have hair there? So do you have hair around you nipples?

Guys please, no need to add your 2 cents to this conversation this one is for the ladies.

my son is 4 months old. When he was 2 months the pediatrician swithched his milk from cow to soy because she claimed that the pimple like skin on his face was an allergic reaction to the cow milk. But he had baby acne.

Now he is eating about 6 oz every 3 hours but he has been spitting the milk alot with LOTS of saliva. I have used Enfamil soy, similac soy and now nestle soy cause he is always very constipated and the doctor recomended to buy the cheapest formula.

The new pediatrician said that the skin rash is not an indicator of any allergic reaction. I now want to switch to the Lipid AR from Enfamil since my son's spitting is getting out of control.

Can this be done?
