That is something you need to discuss with your child's doctor.

That depends on the ten month old. Ask the doctor if you feel your child is drinking too much water.

at 10 months old my daughter drank about 27 oz of Formula anf about 16-24 oz of water a day. She LOVES water and refuses juices. She is 15 mths old and drinks about 4 sippys of water a day and no juice still so we don't offer it.

My son's pediatrician told me that infants under one should only drink a couple ounces of water per day. Anything more can cause liver problems, because their liver is not fully mature, and cannot process a lot of water. Then again, it is really hot out lately, and I would be concerned with dehydration. I would ask your baby's doctor.

Well they usually get enough just from their formula, but i myself too have a ten month old and it has been really hot here, so i have been giving lots of extra water to keep her hydrated.

Breastfed babies generally do not need the extra water if they are permitted adequate access to the breast for feedings. But if not in between meals usually 4-6 oz the same as the purposed juice intake. And of course if the baby is ill he will need to increase the intake.

There is not a set amount that a baby SHOULD have - water is unnecessary in a breastfed baby, even in very warm conditions - it's more important to increase the amount of nursing and ensure that Mum stays hydrated. Check this link for info about water http://www.homemade-baby-food-recipes.com/giving-water-to-baby.html

I don't think it matters because they're usually still drinking milk anyway.

as long as they are still eating formula or whatever your giving them, as much as they want is ok, if theyre getting enough calories and arent throwing it back up.
