i have an 8 month old son. awhile ago my doctor told me to use a multivitamin with flouride but it gave him a stomach ache. now he drinks the nursery water with flouride in it. is this good or not, i have read conflicting things. the doctor said he needed flouride but then people say not to use toothpastes with it for older kids because its bad? so what is it, flouride good or bad???

Fluoride is good for babies...they need it for healthy teeth and gums. I wouldn't worry about giving extra if you are using Nursery water...too much of a good thing can turn to be a bad thing. All I use for my son is Nursery water and grins & giggles baby toothpaste for brushing his teeth...he just turned one yesterday and is pefectly healthy.

Good luck!!

i have NEVER heard that... my daughters teeth are perfect and hasnt had any flouride... she used origel tranning tooth paste which has none in it...her doc told me that she shouldnt even get multivitamins untill she is 2! but i know that too much flouride is very bad for you... Call a Pediatric dentist and ask to see what they say just for a second opinion

I don't think it will harm the child as long as they don't get too much. My daughter's doctor gave me a prescription for flouride drops when she turned 1 because we have well water. I guess if you're concerned, then you should talk to the doctor about it more.

If there is flouride in your water the he's FINE.

If you have well water then you would need another source for flouride.

Flouride is a deadly poison. The government requires that it is in our water supply so that we won't live long enough to collect social security.
