Where can I get poi online or in SE Michigan? Or taro root?
Poi is to be used as my baby's first food. But am having a difficult time finding a source. I live in the Detroit area but would be willing to drive an hour or more. Second choice is Taro Root so I can make my own poi.

You might try these link, they're listings of vegetarian & natural food stores & restaurants in your area. Good luck!

Also, since Taro root is used in many Asian meals you can also try local/area Asian grocery stores. I did a search on Chinese Grocery Detroit and found an article from your Metro Times that lists a few of their food critic's favorite ones, if none of those are close to you, you can try doing a similar search in the yahoo yellow pages using your home address as the starting point for the search.

I live in SE michigan, too. Have you tried "Whole Foods" in Ann Arbor. I'm not sure if they carry it or not, but it is the only place in our area that would be likely to carry it, I think.
