I have changed her formula twice. Including changing it to soy milk. I'm just concerned if this is a serious problem

she may be allergic to the formulas you have given her so far. 1st, you should talk to her pediatrician. my son was allergic to milk and soy based formula so my doc finally put him similac alimentum. very expensive formula (i had to get wic for a little while just to afford it), but it was the only thing he could handle. since your baby isn't even a month, you ped may put her on something different. there are many formulas out there where the proteins are broken down so that you baby's body doesn't have to work so hard to break it down. as you may be already finding out, when it comes to formula, it's a matter of trail and error, but you'll find the right one for her. oh, also make sure she is burped properly and promptly which may help w/ the throwing up. good luck

I would talk to the doctor about it to be sure. Switching formula too much without recommendation of the doctor can cause tummy problems. My daughter rarely spit up, she only did the projectile thing. It was really scary at first, but there was nothing really wrong with her. A friend of mine had a daughter with an underdevelped gag reflex and she did it everytime she ate, but it was not serious.

This happened to my niece. Do not panic, because you and your daughter have a "bond" right now..so she is trusting you with her life. Call the doctor, you always have a nurse or someone should be on call...either today or tomorrow (monday morning) ...Anyway tell them the situation. They told my sister that my niece's esophogus had not fully developed so when she tried to swallow she was having problems...Dont worry though it goes away if not they will give you other options. Plus you do not know if that is what is wrong with your lil girl. Most infants have a hard time adjusting to the formula, especially if you have to keep changing it. They say (drs) that you should wait at least two weeks before changing it again....but contact your doctor and remain calm i know its hard...Also, keep in mind that if your lil one IS gaining weight then dont worry so much...if she isnt then thats where you should be concerned...

Good luck!

Could be the iron, have you tried a low iron formula? Your best advice is to call your Dr.
My baby was 8 days old and he was loosing weight, anemic, so I added herbs to my diet and got my milk back in and breast fed him. He started gaining... was 29 pounds at one year.
Talk with your Doctor, to make sure there are no other serious problems. This can be worked out.

Try giving smaller amounts at each feeding.

My BF's son did that and the doctor said he had reflux and put him on liquid zantac.

Try Prosobee first. It is very hard to find and a bit more expensive than other formulas, but is WONDERFUL! I used it with both of my girls because they had similar issues. Giant usually carries it but you have to look very hard. It is made by Enfomil.

As always, consult a physician first.

Good luck!

Yes, any "projectile vomiting" is very serious. Sounds like a food allergy, and you should report this immediately to your child's doctor.

I would talk to her doctor about having her tested for acid reflux. If not treated this can be serious. My son had to be on liquid Xantac for his first 6 months for this, and he on soy formula.

Stop changing her formula,it will only make it worse. Take her to the doctor. It sounds like she has acid reflux. They will probably tell you to start mixing her formula with rice cereal and prescibe Zantac.

Spitting up is normal. Projectile vomit is not. I would suggest at least calling your doctors office and telling them about it.
