Adolescent - November 2006

Ever since she started middle school she has become a nightmare! She thinks she knows EVERYTHING... Tonight I was talking to my friend on the phone and she played a song for me that I liked. I told my friend that the song had a tight beat and I really liked it. My daughter comes over and says, "tight?" Aren't you a little old to copy "OUR" words! I told her that her generation is just recycling everything from mine (which was the 80's and tight, dope, fresh were words WE used) She thinks that if I do or say anything that she does that I am trying to copy her and her friends...never mind that my friends and I have been using this language way before she was born. What is up with her? The other day she made a comment that it is crazy that her mom knows all HER songs and that I shouldn't like teenage music...the music I like is mostly remakes from when I was younger! Every day she says something that in effect says we are socially retarded and definitely uncool, Why?

Okay, well I'm turning eleven in less than two weeks. Im in fifth grade. I know that on the internet about 60% of people are friggin' clueless, so NO I'm not a little kid just because Im not a teenager. You stop being a little kid in fourth grade, usually.

Okay, well anyways, I like this boy... (hecka typical), and I am dying to know if he likes me back. It might put my mind... at ease, or something. But he's really nice to me, sits behind me in music class (assigned seats, not on purpose) and always shares the dorky songs' pictures and their dorky lyrics from our book.

I just need a way to civilly "ask" him whether he likes me or not. I got my friend to ask, but she dumbly went with another girl as well, and she asked him when another boy and a million classmates were sitting around him. Ofcourse he said no, in that situation.

He told the same friend that asked him earlier that he liked one of my friends, but crushes change quickly at my age. So..... help me here.... ughhhh..

I am a 15 year old and I go to an urban school! It's a bad school. Everyone has sex, including me! But that is the problem...I think I'm a sex-addict! I have sex atleast 2x a day. More on weekends. Any advice to help me? I don't want to stop completely... just slow down!

Okay, I have had a lot of questions about getting over the guy who left and moved. I try to talk to him but every time I call his cell phone is always turned off, I don't know his new address so I can't send him a letter and he doesn't have an email address so I can't email him. Every time I hear a song about love it makes me wanna cry. I hate how he just left me like that. I didn't even get to say goodbye. how can i tell my parents that i want to go out. i know your gonna say that im too young, cause im only 13, but i really like this girl and she already told her parents. the only reason im going out with her is because she is movin in 4 weeks and i want to spend time with her. i asked my mom if she could come over my house and she said yea, but you cnt go into your room. i dont think my parents trust me that much even though they know i wouldnt do nything stupid. how can i tell them that i want to go out with this girl? i'll leave the door open if i have to and they dont know her. i do everything around the house too. i cut the grass, clean up stuff, and do all the other yard work(including dog pickup ). i have 2 brothers who dont do crap, and they are 15 and 16. i also have a sister wo pretends she doesnt remeber what my parents asked her to do so she doesnt do it. my brothers just got a new car and my little sister(8) gets basically w/e she wants. i get no allowance. please help me??

ok. my boyfriend Eric is in this juvie/alternative school thing. and ive dated him for so long and i KNOW for a fact that i love him (so no questions about that please!) now my problem started when he got picked up by the police (which was like 3 days ago). i found "comfort" to one of his really good friends named Steven. Well there is this guy that I have known scince 7th grade and I have liked him scince then. Latley he seems to notice me more. We are already close friends but I don't know. ok im in 8th grade and theres this guy at my school..lets call him Dillon...ok everyone says me and dillon look really good together. But ive never really talked to him. How many parents really realize the fact that with their sons/daughters there are no guarantees they will have another day with them? Especially teens? In other words what you do or say to them could be the last interaction between them or you. I think parents forget their sons/daughters are human and there are no guarantees how long a human is going to be on this earth. I ask this because a co-worker of mine has become a very distraught, messed up person because the last thing she called her daughter before her daughters death at 17 was a "Filthy whore after finding out she and her boyfriend was sexually active." The mother has turned to alcohol, divorced and is about to loose her job over this. Has this happened to any parents posting or do you know of anyone that it happened to. I think we all must stop pause and think before we say and do to not only our own family members but anyone we feel is important in our lives, you never know if it's your last chance.

Do you think people need to realize teens include young adults 17 -19 who may be married, military, and leading happy successfull lives before posting answers to some of the ?'s on this site. Seems to me evryone lumps them together and think of the 16 and under crowd and forget about the fact their are adult teens.

Ok I like this guy, and I think he likes me because he kinda flirts wit me(I think) and he is in all of my classes so we talk a lot and he is just really nice, but there is one problem.......He has a girlfriend. They have been going out for 2 years exept for a couple weeks ago when they got in a fight and broke up for a couple hours and got back together.
He always smiles at me and talks to me and we get along really well.
My friend said it was really oviouse that I liked him and then her friend found out and supposidly yelled it in the locker room in front of his g/f. and I think she is kinda mad at me.
So my question is should I back off and stop flirting wit him and talking to him as much or what?, because I don't want to ruin his relationship or have his g/f hate me(in my school if one girl hates u, they can get other ppl to go along wit them and make ur life a living nightmare).
