Get her make-up and jewellery... that's what I liked at that age. I am the same, I just reached 16 and had no clue what to ask for my birthday. It depends on the individual really, but all girls like make-up and jewellery. Anything that makes her look nice and grown up!

She can always use more clothes- let her pick them out, treat her to lunch/shopping. Or give her money- money is always good, or give her more priveleges- like she can stay up an hour later, stuff like that.
Do not, I repeat, do not get her dolls or makeup or anything like that (my mom gave me an American Girl doll movie for my birthday two years ago. I really wanted that- when I was seven. Last year she gave me a makeup kit, and it was hot pink. No explanation needed)
Just treat her as an adult- don't get her little girl things.

Things that you can buy your daughter that she wuld like are a ipod, a better phone than she already has if she already has one, money so she can spend it on what ever she wants or buy her some make up.
I know she would like these things because i am 12 as well but turning 13 on november the tenth.

there are trainers out at the moment with wheels. Kind of like trendy roller skates. i have seen loads of kids with them lately so they must be the new craze. Great form of exercise while having lots of fun at the same time.

Get her a gift card from one of her favorite stores, then SHE can pick out what she wants.
