19. How would you see if he/she was depressed? changes in behavior such as acting sad, withdrawn, etc... there is much more to it, but it can be confused with normal teenage behavior.

20. What would you do? take them to see a doctor.

21. If they did get pregnant, would you support their decision? what? support having sex at age 13? if they are already pregnant, what can you do about their decision to have sex? i would wonder where i failed in their sex education and the advice i have given.

22. Would you suggest abortion or support abortion? abortion isn't something one can understand unless they are in the situation. nor do i think that a child of age 13 can understand the decision to have an abortion. it is hard to predict what decision i would make, but most likely i would help them to raise the child unless it came from rape, which is another story in itself.

Just so you know, I am doing this survey with my fiance...
1. yes, but with a strict curfew - say 9:00pm
2. yes, same rule as above.
3.depends on their maturity level.
4.not yet
5.clean the litter box, put their clothes away, make sure all of their dirty clothes get into the laundry room.
6. thirteen is a tough age...it really depends on the child. We have 9 year old twins, a boy ans a girl. I think our daughter is much more mature than our son...not to say that that won't change over the years.
7.depends on WHO she/he is going with. Do youknow the other kids?
8.yes - I would drop her off/pick her up, and set a time and place to meet.
9. Same as #8
10.again, that really depends on the child,, and how responsible/mature that child is.
11. Is she acting appropriately? Don't worry about it unless you think that your child is acting innapropriate.
12.yes - during the day or early evening,
13.no
14.depends if I saw it first and thought my child was mature enough, then yes.
15.same as #14
16. same as #14
17. How much older? One year, maybe!
18. I don't think I would let my 13 year old date anyone more than a year older....If I knew the other kid, and he/she was a few years older, but I knew that they were a good kid, then It woldn't bother me as much.
Remember, being a parent is challenging at times, But try to be democratic about it. Let your child have some freedom, but WITHIN LIMITS. You know your child better than anyone else. Follow your gut instinct, and Good luck to you.
