Not to be gross, but he could have fingered her. That won't necessarily break the hymen. You really should check into it, because those are some pretty harsh charges to lie about. Has she always disliked her stepdad, or has it been just recently? If it's just been recent, then I would assume that she may be telling the truth. Ask her to divulge the details, and get to the bottom of this. She should see a counselor if she is in fact lying about all this. The truth will come out eventually. In the mean time, just for precautions, don't leave her alone with stepdad until you get this all sorted out. I wish you luck!

Either for attention or because she is confused about what actually happened.
If I were the mother in the situation I would take her seriously and divorce the step-father. The only person kids know to trust is their parents. There are other ways to rape a person--it's not always about going in the vagina, he could have raped her anally.
It's important to have a one on one talk with the girl and really get deep into the converstation to the point where you know or she will admit if she's lying.

either way, i think you should take her to a counselor to either find out a) why she is lying or....b) emotional help to recover from rape

Its called "power and control". She is demanding and getting attention by inventing stories that damage others to put her in the "victim stance". With that stance she is able to manipulate others into doing what she wants because they fear that she could be right. She is NOT. She is crying for help BIG TIME. She needs to talk something out. She could be trying to manipulate your marriage (very likely if she knows her birth father) into letting her move away thinking that out of the house lie greener pastures. I would get her into counseling with the rest of the family otherwise you WILL have major troubles and soon.

There is something terribly wrong with her relationship with her stepfather. Very likely hates him and doesnt want him near her or her family. What happened to her father? THat has alot to do with everything.

A doctor cannot tell by examining her whether she is a virgin. Some hymens don't break with intercourse. Also he could have not actually gone in but been close. I would believe her.

because shes crazy is she bipolar who would even think about such crazy things to say if it wasn't true that could get alot of people in alot of trouble or she might be depressed or even stressed about something and looking for attention.
